Photoshop :: CS6 Extended On The Cloud
May 21, 2012
Do I need to remove my paid version of CS6 to download and use Photoshop extended App from the cloud? I don't have a 3D button, I had the 3D ver. with the beta CS6 and when CS6 was made avail for purchase I got it but the 3D was gone. And after seeing it was on the Creative Cloud I subscribed and downloaded it but still no 3D button.

Currently I am running PhotoShop extended CS5, 64bit. in which i have my fovorite plugins (Topaz, Nik and OneOne) running perfectly.
I have upgraded to Adobe Creative Cloud and installed PhotoShop extended CS6 using Adobe Application Manager as recommended. It didn't ask me if I wanted to upgrade or do a new install for PhotoShop. So now I CS6 running with no Plug-ins. I need my plugins! LOL.
I tried pointing to additional plugins in the CS6 preference to the CS5 plugin folder. Upon Launch it gave me a whole slew of error messages saying something cant load or launch C+ runtime error or what not. It does open up, but it only gives access to Nik and Topaz. OnOne doesn't show up under filters or extensions.
So, what are my options?
Just copy the plugins from CS5 to CS6?
I dont't want to reinstall all the plugins to CS6 if I don't have to as I've auto updated them over time to current versions online, so only have installation files for my original purchases.

I already own Ps CS6 and after buying a subscription to the Cloud, tried to download PsCS 6 Extended, but it wouldn't come through. I tried to download the trial version before I purchased the subscription, but that didn't come through either.

Notice on Adobe site indicates that update 13.0.5 is available for Photoshop cs6 Extended--non Cloud version. However when in the program itself using the update didn't show any updates for Photoshop CS6 only Illustrator cs6. And this update on the Adobe download site only appears to be available for the mac and not the pc.
So where is this update and what is the Adobe play to keep CS6 Suite of non-cloud products up-to-date.

The version of PS you get with a Creative Cloud subscription is Photoshop CS6 Extended, correct?
I just installed Photoshop via my new Creatve Cloud subscription. Before doing so, I decided NOT to unistall my aleady installed Creative Suite 6 software - this included Photoshop CS6 STANDARD.I didn't uninstall my CS6 because I wanted to avoid any possible downtime + the Creative Cloud thing is a whole new experience for me, I wasn't sure how it would work.
Why didn't my PS CS6 Standard upgrade into PS CS6 Extended when I updated it with the Creative Cloud installer? There was no option to install Photoshop via the newly redesigned Adobe Application Manager, just "update".

I just recently (yesterday) became a member of the creative cloud. Now I am aware that my subscription (full individual subscription) allows me to use Photoshop CS6 Extended.
I previously had Photoshop CS6 Standard installed (my suspicion why it's not working properly) removed it and downloaded Photoshop via Application Manager, but it's still not the Extended version.
Also is there a way to keep the downloads because I'm constantly using photoshop at work (one of my main tools) and having to uninstalling and re downloading (which seems to take forever) is not the best solution.

I am specifically intrigued by the cloud; the light blast is fairly easy.

I just signed up for the latest cloud version and created my first file and I can't get it to print. The first time I go to the file menu the print option is available but when I click on it, nothing happens. If I look in the file menu a second time, the print option is greyed out.
I can close the file and re-open and the exact same thing happens. I've also tried closing Photoshop altogether and it's the same story.
I'm on Windows XP by the way.

Is it still possible to get CS6 without Creative Cloud? I have CS4 and was going to upgrade to CS6, but then it changed to a subscription basis. As a nonprofessional, passionate hobbyist who gets no income from his photography I can't afford to pay the monthly costs of CS6 Creative Cloud. Or will I have to switch a competing photo program, which admittedly won't be as good?

I was checking out the CS6 product page, especially wanting to see the uprgrade pricing (I currently own CS4 Design Premium full suite). I had not really investigated the Creative Cloud thing before, so I went through the FAQs. I'm still not sure if I want to go that route, or stick with the perpetual license thing.
You are assured of always having the most up-to-date versions, and can add any app at any time. I currently use Photoshop and Illustrator way more than the rest of the apps in my suite, but it is nice the rest are there when I need them. Who knows, I might really get into Premeir Pro or Audition.
The Cloud basically offers everything in the CS Master Collection. The question is, "Is it a good value (for me) (or you)?" It seems it's a better deal the more apps you use. In my case, comparing the cost of an upgrade to the Master Collection (which I likely wouldn't buy otherwise) would give me 2 3/4 years of the funtionality for the same price. Pretty good, even considering Adobe's new 24-month release cycle.
But compared with the Web and Design Premium upgrade, which would be the version I probably would buy, it drops down to less than two years functionality. But, I would gain the ability to add apps as my needs may change. The fact that you have to keep on paying to continue to use it is a definite turn-off, but not that much worse than the new one-version-back upgrade policy.
So, I have more thinking to do before I make up my mind. I would like to hear thoughts from those who have decided, particularly from those who have decided to get Cloudy. What were the main things that led you to that decision? Or against it?

What are some ways to change the color of the sky in a picture?
My method was creating a new layer above the photo and setting its blending mode to "Color" while using a brush to paint the sky with a shade of blue. It works well with pictures without too much obstruction (trees, etc.) against the sky.
Are there any ways to achieve this in a more easier way? I was thinking maybe with Replace Color or Selective Color but i cant seem to work it out, especially if the sky has clouds in it?

I want to make a cloud shape around an image. This is NOT "clouds" as in using the difference clouds tool or whatever. I just want to draw a cloud shape just as I would draw a circle or a square or star. Is there such a tool I can download or a technique to do that?
Then if it is easy, can I actually make it look like "real" clouds in a "cloud shape" around my image?
