Photoshop :: Will C6 Extended Run On Windows XP
Jun 21, 2012I am thinking of purchasing Adobe Photoshop C6 EXTENDED. However, I have an older computer running Windows XP, with an older graphics card (Nvidia 7600 GS). Will the program run on my machine? Especially its 3-D capability?

Oct 1, 2012I have installed Adobe Photoshop CS6 Extended trial from Adobe.com (Yeah, I am sure it was the EXTENDED version). In the setup it says that it is installing ”Photoshop CS6 Extended” and I could saw that yellow leaves -or what that is- girl in the image. But every time I open the program, it says only ”Adobe Photoshop CS6”,
I have no 3D options displayed and if I go to About Photoshop, it says that it is only ”Adobe Photoshop CS6 (not EXTENDED-as I could see on some youtube videos)”! So, what is the problem? I have a 32-bit system and Windows 8 Release Preview installed. I read that XP does not support 3D, but about Windows 8... Or, it does not support 32-bit systems, it only support 64-bit systems?

Photoshop :: CS3 Extended Freezes On Startup - Windows 7
May 4, 2012Recently Photoshop CS3 Extended freezes when I launch it on my Windows 7 (64 bit) computer. The splash screen appears but then it just stops working (usually on initializing Tools).
I have read several things so far. To fix it I tried:
- disabling the TWAIN plugin
- resetting all tools
- deleting the Photoshop preferences file.
- deleting my printer from the control panel (some others said printer drivers could cause it)

Jun 3, 2012I Have Photoshop CS6 Extended (on Windows 7 - 64bit).
But it does not open my .psd files, only if I run Photoshop CS6 and go File > Open > "and then open the file", it will open, but If I go to the file it self it does not recognize CS6 as the default program or to open it. It tells me it cannot find a program to open the .psd file with. I have tried several times to set the Default Program but it is not even there and if I click on "browse" to find Photoshop and click "open" it does not open or show Photoshop in the Default Programs.
Now I accidently clicked on coreldraw and I don't want my .psd files opening with coreldraw! because I hardly use coreldraw, I only needed it for my studies.When I had CS5 it worked and opened fine, with CS6 the .psd files just don't find Photoshop.how can I fix this so that my .psd files get recognized?
Photoshop :: CS6 Extended X64 Windows 7 Bug / Color Overlay Layer Effect
Jun 8, 2012I created a simple layer shape using the elipse shape tool, and applied a color overlay (blue) layer effect to that shape. The applied color overlay doesn't fill the entire shape (see image) making it look like the shape has a very wide stroke applied to it (it doesn't). If I "copy merged" the pasted copy is a rasterized version of the problematic overlay. If I rasterize the layer, the fill then covers the entire shape.
Jpeg below. Shape is black, color overlay is blue. There is no other effect applied. Blend mode normal, opacity 100%. The image upload won't let me attach the layered PSD file.
I'm running PS CS6 under Creative Cloud.

Aug 28, 2012I uninstalled Photoshop CS5.1 ME (Middle Eastern) version from my 64bit operating system (Windows 7 Home Premium) and went on to install CS6 EXTENDED after a fresh restart (I also deleted remaining CS5 folders in "Program Files' Adobe directory"). The setup went fine. But, when it finished, it gave an error message saying that Adobe Photoshop CS6 didn't install or didn't install correctly. From there, I copied the error report/log it gave out:

Photoshop started fine and worked fine (only used it a bit) after the "failed" installation but, the Update option in the Help window was grayed out (trial version, just to let you know). Is that a limitation to the trial version? Or is it straight up an error?
My question is, what did the error report mean and what could be wrong with my currently installed version of PS? BTW, I didn't use Mini Bridge yet, although all of its files are present in the Program Files directory for Adobe.

In Photoshop Elements 4 there is a selection brush, enabling you to make pixel by pixel selection (if desired). There seems to be NO counterpart in CS3 - - which seems impossible for so powerful a program. In that most of my work involves selecting very precise points of 1 or 2 pixels, how can this be done?

Jun 17, 2009I did a search with little success, but I picked up a couple of copies of Windows 7 Release Copy today at a tech expo and was wondering if anyone had had a chance to try it out. One of the IT guys I know has been running the Beta for a while and loves it, but I'm curious about how many people may have tried it with Photoshop and Illustrator. I'm finishing up building a new computer and could load it either on that or on this laptop, but I'd like a little feedback first!

Aug 30, 2012Currently I am running PhotoShop extended CS5, 64bit. in which i have my fovorite plugins (Topaz, Nik and OneOne) running perfectly.
I have upgraded to Adobe Creative Cloud and installed PhotoShop extended CS6 using Adobe Application Manager as recommended. It didn't ask me if I wanted to upgrade or do a new install for PhotoShop. So now I CS6 running with no Plug-ins. I need my plugins! LOL.
I tried pointing to additional plugins in the CS6 preference to the CS5 plugin folder. Upon Launch it gave me a whole slew of error messages saying something cant load or launch C+ runtime error or what not. It does open up, but it only gives access to Nik and Topaz. OnOne doesn't show up under filters or extensions.
So, what are my options?
Just copy the plugins from CS5 to CS6?
I dont't want to reinstall all the plugins to CS6 if I don't have to as I've auto updated them over time to current versions online, so only have installation files for my original purchases.

Jan 10, 2012This just started happening after I downloaded DWG TruViewer. I am working on LT 2008 using Fusionware on a MacPro. I needed the viewer to convert newer drawings from an architect. Now, when I double click on a drawing in Explorer a separate AutoCad window opens for each drawing I need open. I prefer to just go up to Window>and click on the one I need at that time, especially if I have several to switch between because it is easier to see the file name I want.
SDI is set to 0
Taskbar is set to 0
Relaunched the program
I can't open files using File>Open because the program crashed each time and Autodesk is not issuing anymore fixes for 2008. (Yes, we should upgrade but there is no money budgeted)
Right-click on any .dwg file and go to Properties>General>Change> and select the AutoCad LT launcher as the preferred program
Since I am in Window 7 instead of XP the File Types tab has been removed from Folder Options so I can't fix it that way.
So, why did this change? FYI that stupid TruViewer made lots of unnecessay changes to my AutoCad and Explorer programs that I am still trying to sort out like changing the file icon and hiding the file extensions. Are they trying to make it hard to find files or what?
And next, how can I reset the default so that double clicking on a .dwg in Explorer opens in already open AutoCad window?

Feb 16, 2009I recently downloaded the trial version of CS4 which only offered the option of trialling the Extended version NOT the basic version. Subsequent to that I have purchased CS4 and of course, as expected, CS4 Extended does not recognise the serial number. I had thought that by entering a valid serial number for CS4 that some of the features of the trial Extended version would be deactivated but this appears not to be the case. Does this mean I have to uninstall the Extended version and then install CS4 from the CD or will simply running and installing CS4 from the CD overwrite the Extended version?

Oct 16, 2008Initial issues with PS CS4 Extended Windows XP Pro.
CS3 worked just fine but had many issues with Bridge CS3.
1. Sometimes the file menu selections are non-selectable grey including fundamental functions like Open and Exit not even clicking on the x will allow PS to close! I found a workaround, I can select a tool that is not currently selected (like the crop or brush) and now the menu items appear.
2. The Arrange Documents drop down menu is blank except for the lower text portion. All icons are missing. Roll over text popup shows what is supposed to be on the menu but no icons.
3. I have setup Bridge CS4 to auto start at logon. Works OK but sometimes for whatever reason stays busy after I close. Task Manager shows Bridge using up to 25% of CPU time and the program is not even open!
5. I purchased a couple Canon EOS 50Ds as backup cameras for our business. Worked last week with CS3 and Bridge with Raw 4.6 upgrade. Does not work with RAW 5.0 in CS4bummer!

Dec 25, 2008After loading the CS4 Extended version, the "Upgrade Check" defaults to CS3 Extended as my previous version. The problem is that I do not have and CS3 product installed on my system. I do, however, have CS2.
Of course, without the correct version for the upgrade checker to read, I am unable to get CS4 to accept and work beyond the 30 day trial period.
How do I get the upgrade checker to recognize CS2?

Mar 23, 2009I install CS4, and it asks for my serial number before installation. I enter it in, it works (I get a little green check), and then I proceed to install the software.
So, it finishes installing. I then go to click on the CS4 icon. I get this box that pops up before PS comes up, that says "CS4 Extended".
Once CS4 actually comes up, I get a pop up box that says, "CS4 Extended - Trial Version", and it asks me if I want to keep using the trail, or put in my serial number. Obviously, I don't have a serial number for Extended. I purchased the regular CS4, where my serial number worked right before I installed.
But now, every time I click on my CS4 icon, it loads this CS4 Extended - Trial Version. I use the program under the Extended trial version....but I bought regular CS4, and again, my SN worked right before install. Why do I keep loading the CS4 Extended Trial?

Does Photoshop CS4 extended work the same way Photoshop CS4 does in that regard, but with just more advanced features for video etc?In other words, will Photoshop CS4 extended work the same was as Photoshop CS4 would with my photos?
