I'm trying to display the RGB palette in CorelDRAW x5. When I open the Palette Manager, the usual palettes are listed i.e. "Shades of Gray", "CMYK" etc. When display the various palettes by clicking the "Eye" icon next to them, they all display as expected with the exception of the RGB palette. Although it doesn't display, I can see its (bottom-left) shadow. Put another way: it seems to be displaying just off-screen to the right.
Any way to get it to display correctly?
FYI: Some time back, I used two monitors and I may have left the palette floating on the other screen. I don't really think that's the case, but it's possible and I mention it in case any of you think it might be the problem.
For some reason when I hold down the right hand side on my mouse pad to access the hidden tools in the tools palette in illustrator, it shows the alternative tools but wont let me switch to them eg I hold down the right hand pad and can see the smooth tool underneath the pencil but I cant switch tools. It certainly has worked in the past but appears to have stopped working?
I went to hide the properties palette and now it disappered. I type properties in the command line and right click on an object and select properties and nothing. No palette. What do I need to do to get the palette back?
Usually I can click a took and thats the end of it...if I want to show hidden I have to click the little arrow or something of that nature. Now when I click a tool it automatically opens up the hidden tools menu, which makes it very annoying to select tools because I've then got to click it in the hidden menu to select it.
Also performing things such as double clicking hand tool to show an image full screen don't work becuase as soon as I click the hand tool once it opens up the hidden tools menu and won't allow me to double click it. I've tried resetting to defaults and even checked my wacom/mouse settings...cant figure out what the issue is.
In 2008, never had this issue.Just dumb, circles, and lines in a view port, that have hidden or center linetyoes assigned to them. When we go to plot using legacy hidden (this new for 2012?) the plot comes out with continuous lines. These are not solids. Just ordinary line entities. Now, when I change the shadeplot to "hidden" the linetype is shown correctly, but now my entities are coloured, when I just want my drawing to be black and white (going to PDF), even though all of the colours in the pen style are set to "Black".
Has this changed? Is there a new variable introduced?
I am attempting to create a graphic using corel draw that has several different layers that can be viewed separately or simultaneously. Additionally the images in each layer are hyper linked to corresponding web pages. I am running into an issue because when I print to PDF I have several layers still active however hidden.
These hidden layers contain hyperlinks which are still showing up on the PDF even when those layers are not.
How can I make CorelDraw X5 not display fonts marked "hide" in the FONTS folder of Win 7? Scrolling through hundreds of fonts to find the one you want is a real nightmare.
I had saved this link in my FF favorites. Just thought of sharing it here. I could not find any live link for this page on the Homepage or any other pages on the recent forum pages. I wonder why it was removed.
I want to create a watermark layer that is hidden (non visible), but is "printable" so it shows when I export to PDF.I can only get it to display is I show (make visible) that layer.
While I was first working with CorelDraw13, I tried exporting a file that had a layer that was hidden, but printable. I got a warning/error window notifying my of the problem. In the corner, there was a check box option to not display that warning/error message.
Now, I am trying to get that window to show up again.
I'm drawing objects (walls, platforms, etc.) in 3d made up primarily of extruded polygons. I want to be able to plot these objects in a way that hides all of the lines which are obscured by other objects. Currently I have my viewports set up with a 2D Wireframe visual style and a Hidden shade plot. This isn't working for me. I'm still getting all of the lines in the drawing visible no matter what.
Here's the strange thing: It seems to work perfectly fine in plan view, but not in front view. Also, it's worked fine in the past. It seems that the problem has gotten progressively worse over the past year or so.
I can't see the text in several paragraph text boxes but they print fine. The outline is red on-screen but the contents aren't visable unless I print it.
Can I do something to the file, clean it, save as, reindex it, re-build it ?
I've got everything set to work in RGB, no problem. New documents are created in RGB. My palette on the right of the screen is always RGB unless I load an existing non-RGB document. Everything saves in RGB and prints in RGB.
Except...when working on something and attempting to change or apply a Line Color or Fill Color, I will click on the color option, a Color Dialog window appears...and if I click on Palette, the Pantone Spot color palette appears.
I physically have to go in every time, bring up the palette tree, and hunt for the RGB palette. I never had to do this with earlier versions...I always got the RGB palette as the first choice, maybe based on the last used?
I've gone through all the setup options and customizations. I can't find where to set the RGB palette as the default in this procedure.
I am using coreldraw x5 . when i first installed i had an image palette (think that's what it was called) on the page that i could move around and it had everything on it including colors. but now its gone and i cant find how to get it back.
I'm using CorelDRAW X5. When I used version 12 and earlier versions, the color palette displayed on the right side of the screen showed color names. (I think you only saw the name when you selected a color.) Now instead I see only numerical values.
Is there a way to restore color names here? It seems this should be a simple option, like display color values or color names.
in corel x4 i was used to right-click edit-find color then enter the pms color and corel x4 highlight the color in the palette. Seem that I don't find this search function in X5.
After a little while the color palette suddenly became glaringly fluorescent and no amount of rebooting could get my original color palette back. After that I opened the Palette Editor under Tools and fiddled around the Sort button settings there. This changed the order I was seeing the colors in my palette which stayed as fluorescent as ever and the original sequence would not come back no matter what I did. I read up a bit and played around with the Color Management settings-in vain. As a last resort I have uninstalled and installed the program again-to no avail! What should I do? I tried the F8 start as well-that didn't work either.
I am having trouble creating a custom palette in Draw X6. I am trying to import (or create) a palette of a range of threads I use. There are around 300 swatches to create. I had this palette in Illustrator that I created from a CSV file using a script. It is in RGB colors. I need to have the swatch and thread number in the palette.
First, is there a way to convert a csv/xls/txt file into an palette xml file to make the palette automatically as I did in Illustrator?
Second, doing it manually is giving me trouble. I am following the below directions from the manual:
To create a custom color palette from scratch
1. Click Window Dockers Color palette manager. 2. Click the Creates a new empty color palette button. 3. Type a file name in the File name box. 4. Click Save. 5. In the Color palette manager, choose the custom palette that you created. 6. Click the Opens the Palette editor button. 7. In the Palette editor dialog box, click Add color. 8. In the Select color dialog box, choose a color, and click Add to palette.
I've gotten to Step 7, but there's where everything goes badly, When I add a color, the Select Color box comes up, and I choose the Models tab and choose an RGB. All my thread colors are in RGB. I can then input the RGB values in the cvs table, however, when I try to name the color with the thread color number (say "2005 - Petal Yellow"), it changes the RGB values to something else and changes the color in the preview box. It's like there is no way to give the color my own custom name. If I just bypass the naming and try to Add To Palette, it either tells me the color is already in the palette or I can't add any more because I've reached the maximum allowable entries....in a blank new palette file? Any color I choose from any of the pickers, or anything I enter in the value boxes just ends up with an error message.
I've checked the xml file of the new, supposedly blank, palette, and there are no colors or code, so what am I missing? Why can't I just input the color RGB values, name it, and add it? I can use the color picker to add colors to the palette, and after saving, that does show up in the xml file, but I don't have a document of color swatches, only a CSV. There's got to be a better way then making all the swatches in Draw, and also using the color picker on each one to make the palette.
I use CDR X4 and a Roland VS printer with versaworks as my RIP. In Corel, I have my color palette set up to the right as RVW but when I go to use gradients or fills, the color options are Corel. I end up having to edit the color palette to RVW every time. Is there a way to change this setting so when I go to use fills etc., RVW color palette is first to appear ?
I recently started working with X5 and am having a few issues with the importing of palettes.I have created a couple of very large swatch palettes (about 1044 colors) in Photoshop CS4 and Illustrator CS4 that I would like to not have recreate in X5 (each swatch is custom named).
The photoshop swatch palette is saved as an .ACO file. I am able to open the .ACO palette in X5, however, the CMYK values do not match, and the custom name does not transfer.
-As an example, my custom black swatch in the .ACO file is called A1 and its CMYK value is 60, 49, 47, 100. However, when opened in X5 it is only identified by its CMYK value, which has changed to 29, 22, 29, 30 (which is more of a semi-dark grey than a black). In fact, all of the colors look as if they have been desaturated by 50-75% (that's a huge guesstimate on my part).
After struggling with my .ACO palette I thought I would try to import my .AI file.
X5 gives the option to open a palette that was created in Illustrator if the palette itself is saved as an .AI (which can be done directly from the swatch menu in AI. I have tried opening my .AI palette in X5- it allows me to chose the file, however, nothing happens.
I am using X5 on a Win 7 64 bit system. I am having an issue with colors that manifests itself in 3 ways: When I try to change a color from rgb or cmyk to PMS, the program freezes and gives the error message that CorelDraw has stopped working. Files that have been created using more than one palette will not open on this system - although they will open fine on other machines running X5. Finally, if I even mouse-over the color palettes tab from the "Windows" drop-down menu the same thing happens.
I have used F8 to reset the workspace and when that did not work, I re-installed Coreldraw with the same result.
I am trying to set up my CorelDraw x6 workspace so that the default spot color palette is set to Pantone solid coated.
I go to:Tools > Options (or Customization) > Global > Color > set "Default spot color palette" to "PANTONE solid coated"
Unfortunately this seems to be ignored by x6.
Every time i want to change from a CMYK color to Pantone i must do the following:
1) select the objec
t2) double click the color chip adjacent to the Fill icon in the Status Bar
3) which brings up:
4) from here I select the Palettes tab (if it is not already selected)5) then select from the Palette drop down menu:SPOT > PANTONE > PANTONE+ > Solid Coated
This is a very clumsy and inefficient way to work as I must do this EVERY time I want to change from CMYK to Pantone. Is there any way to get x6 to operate correctly or is there something I am missing?
I will save a document in X5 and when its opened in the same program - same computer it doesn't update the palette that i used to create the document. The replaced colors are either Black or White. They have the callouts of 100% ID: ### Density: 100.The Default RGB pallette and CMYK colors all come back but the color palette I use for my RIP (VersaCAMM) always change.
The new color management system in CorelDraw X5. When I enable color management (only option is Microsoft ICM) in the Default Color Settings (under conversion settings) I get unfavorable results when converting a RGB to CMYK bitmap - it darkens and adds too much reflex color. When I disable the Color Conversion the bitmaps convert correctly, but the palette (and vector objects in the design) become reflex RGB.
Any generic prepress setting I can use that does not shift colours between RGB and CMYK bitmaps, and that displays the palette more accurately.
My current profile settings are:
RGB: sRGB IEC61966-2.1 CMYK: US Web Coated SWOP V2 Grayscale: Dot Gain 15%
If I have more than one page design if I move cursor with picked color over "page 2" its changing page i'm working to second page and I can't drop picked color on first page object.
system configuration:
Win 7 Pro 64bit, Intel i5-2500, 8 GB RAM, 128 SSD SAMSUNG + 2TB on hard drives. corel version: X6 VERSION: 16.4.0.1280
Is there a way to make a custom palette using the eyedropper tool? I've made a palette from an object, but it has too many colors. I've also made individual color swatches with the dropper, but I can't select them when using the Mesh Tool. Is there a way to make a color palette with the eyedropper tool that will work with the Mesh Tool?
