AutoCAD Visual LISP / AutoLISP :: Select Dynamic Block Based On Previous Selected Point

For a program i am working for i have to extract the base point of a dynamic block.
This can be done perfectly by this function:
(cdr (assoc 10 (entget (car (entsel)))))
But i want the entity selected based on a previous slected point. So for example when i selected pt1 (which is a point at the border of the dynamic block) i want to be able to extract the base point on the block whit this point.

I currently insert certain dynamic block into drawings with a short function that first inserts the specified dynamic block and then immediately changes the visibility state to one specified as an argument to the function.
I'm wondering if it is possible / better / faster to somehow insert the dynamic block with the decided visibility state simultaneously. I've been amazed by many capabilities of VL so I wouldn't at be surprised if this can be done. (the dynamic blocks I'm inserting could have many multiples in the drawing but I need this method to only affect the one being inserted at the time the function is called. I currently use entlast to decide which one is being inserted.)

Create a routine that looks for a block based on a portion of that block name, using a specified path or search path.
For example, block to search for is BLOCKABC123, so if someone inputs ABC or 123 as a block name, it will locate that block within that folder and inserts it into the drawing at a user specified location.
Ideally, if there is a check in that if it finds more than one match, then perhaps it flags or prompts you to choose 1, 2, or 3 option which block to use. But I can live without this special function if it requires too much time to code.

I am looking for a way to extract (filter) all polylines, and loop a lisp based on the number that are found within a "W" selection window.I am frustrated getting "malformed list" or errors, even after defining "n" for repeat.The code I have so far looks like this:

Without the (repeat () portion, it was working ok with selection window, however it only would run the commands for a single polyline. What needs to be done without overhauling the code? The lisp has worked on a drawing-wide basis, however needs to run on only on user-windowed polylines since there are other polylines within the drawing which are attached to layouts via viewports.

the expression in question is part of larger lisp routine to create and rotate text based on the object selected and the viewtwist variable (we use dview twist to rotate our views when needed)
So the expression in question:
(< (/ pi 2) ang (* pi 1.5)
where ang is the total angle used to determine proper rotation of the text.
Now the problem. In most cases where ang = 90 (or 1.5708 radians) this works fine. the two exceptions i have encountered
in testing are a line at 70 degress, viewtwist 20, and line at 50, viewtwist 40. For whatever reason at these two conditions the expressoin evaulates True instead of nil and rotates the entire text object incorrectly (180 degrees). So question is how exactly is this being evaluated? i know its comparing ang (* pi 1.5) to (/ pi 2). is there some sort of rounding error? or maybe the expression needs a wee bit more definition? attached image and full lisp routine for reference of what is happening, blue text is angle of the line as created by routine at viewtwist 0.

What I am trying to do is grab the value of the owner tag (of which there are four), and use that value to determine which layer to place it on. What it seems to be doing is hanging.

I found a lisp for counting of selected block in a table drawing, but I can not remove the bottom line of this lisp that displays "total" blocks. How to remove this line from "total" that is created in the last row of the table that lisp.

You have a dwg with multiple sets of different blocks and a circle you want to place on the insert point of each set blocks.
You select the circle then select one of the blocks in the set and the circle is placed on the insert point of each of the blocks in that set. It would save time from doing it manually and save on mistakes.

I am trying to write a program to align a block with two selected destination points.
- first the user is prompted to select a lwpolyline of a block entity
- then he is prompted to pick two destination points
I face problem with the sub-routine SegmentPts. It is supposed to return the coordinates of two vertexes on both sides of the picked point on a lwpolyline using entsel. But here in my program, when i am picking a point using entsel on a lwpolyline inside a block entity, it is not returning the two vertexes on both sides of the picked point. In stead, it returns some other points of the selected LWPOLYLINE. Why it is doing so? Where is the problem in my program?
It works fine with my other programs where i pick on a LWPOLYLINE entity. In this particular case, the LWPOLYLINE is inside a Block entity and the program is not returning correct points.

We have been modifying a trim-around-block routine to have as few clicks as possible and though it feels like we'd be able to have the line to be broken auto-selected based off of the insertionpoint that was set as a variable.

what I'm trying to do is have the program select the block and then I want to get out of it what the Block Name is, so I can then compare it to the list of block names that I want the program to move. Here is what I was trying to use:

know a lisp routine that would insert a block @ a specific point on an arc? For instance if I have an arc that has a radius of 20'-0" & I want to insert a block at a set distance from the end of the arc.i could probably use the divide or measure command but I was hoping I could do it with lisp. I would also like to be able to move the object along the path of the arc at a specific distance.

I need a routine that inserts a point at the insert point or block named "Insert_Point" at every block in the file. The routine could use the current layer, which would be set prior to starting the routine. If it could request the user for the PDMode value and PDSize that would be great too. This will assist me in creating block libraries.

Basically I want a dynamic block that works like an MLeader. I have built the block and can manipulate parameters, but haven't found a way to select a specific dynamic block grip.
It has a base point but then after placing the block I want to activate the stretch grip.

Is it possible to create a dynamic block completely from scratch using Lisp?
I also want the ability to be able to create different dynamic block geometry depeding on the Visibility parameter.
I seem to be able to create the normal (non-dynamic) block geometry using Lisp but cannot seem to find out a way to enter the block editor and create stuff pertaining to dynamic blocks.
I have 1000's of dynamic blocs to create and looking to a way to automate this using Lisp.

I have successfully created accessible parking dynamic blocks. They work fine for new parking because they are set to always be a certain width. 5'-0" or 8'-0" for an access aisle, etc. What i would like to figure out is how to create an existing access aisle that can be stretched horizontally & vertically.
The problem is that when the striping is at an angle as is the case with the access aisle how do i go about doing this? Could i put some sort of geometric constraint to be able to stretch it horizontally & vertically & keep the striping at a given angle. Also the striping may need to array as it is stretched.

Attached is a lisp that reads an attribute block value and uses that value to set a named view. The attribute block is a diesel expression field which reads the drawing number, so it changes as the drawing is saved to a new number. I use it when I am preparing road alignment drawings. I prepare the first drawing in the set, saving views for all drawings and when I'm done I copy that drawing 001 as many time as I need, rename them drawing 002, drawing 003 etc. and use the attached lisp with scriptpro to set all my saved views.
I also have a dynamic block called "key" in the drawing with visibility states matching the named views.
either expand this lisp or create a new lisp to set the visibility using the "VN" variable.

We currently have a bunch of Lisp programs to create drawings but I am interested in exploring how I can maybe use Lisp with either dynamic blocks or parametric drawings. I just don't know which would make more sense. Currently we have programs where we enter things like width, height, leg or radius, bars wide and high etc and it creates a drawing like the one I've attached. I know that if I can create this drawing as a dynamic block or a parametric drawing, then when there are revisions, I don't need to create the drawing again. I can just adjust the parameter or the dynamic block. What makes the most sense, a dynamic block or a parametric drawing? I should note that I'd still like to use autolisp to create the initial drawing (or insert the block) since that's what the users are used to.

I figured out how to entmake a Block with attributes based on user input for insert point, rotation, etc.
My block is a detail bubble that is a circle with a tail, that cuts the object and shows direction of cut. I will include that with this post.
My problem lies in this. I've used dynamic block features such as linear for the tail length, and the cut length, and angle for the direction of the tail.
My old routine was simple, it would ask for detail point and angle. From that it would insert a block that was just the bubble and draw the tail and cut with a polyline.
Since then I've been able to use entmake, which is a lot more powerful for creating entities in AutoCAD. But for the life of me I can't figure out how to add the dynamic properties of my "new" detail block that has the tail, cut and bubble in one.
what I need in the entmake statement to make this create programmatically instead of inserting the block, then modifying it, if possible.

I'm having an issue with using the SSGET to select a block so I can move it. I'm changing the UCS to be at the center of the top view in the program(user selects center) and the block is at 0,0,0 after changing the UCS. However when I use SSGET it doesn't select it. So I used:

How can I find a block with a specific name and get what the coordinates are? What we have is our Bill of Material is attributed blocks. I am attempting to change the first one. Well all of the lines that list the parts are seperate blocks with the same name. Now the Top Line of the Bill of Material is a different named block. If I can find the coordinates of this block I can then select the first line to do what I need to.

I have insert blocks in my dwg. It is the circle. While creating the block, i was just pick the point into the circle not exactly at the centre.
Now i want change the insertion point of the block at centre of the circle without moving the objects from the dwg.
Beacuse i had use block editor to change the insertion point. But after changing, all blocks were moved from the original position.

I have to point out the place i want it to go. I want it to got into the corner by it self. I would like to create a lisp that calculates, by the retrieved variable of the layout / paperspace, minus 10
from the bottom right corner. minus 10 from the bottom up and from the right edge to the left.
