I can run the ACC fine on multiple DWG files with a basic set of commands in the script file. But, when I try to load an AutoLISP/Visual LISP file and run it from inside the script file, it doesn't work. How to run a LISP file using the ACC?

i am wondering if it is possible to alter a specific attribute in cca 250 files? I have this template which has like 50-70 attributes,but not all of them are used. I have to change only one attribute in all of the files. For instance, i have an attribute with a specisfic tag, but the content of it is ie MARK, i want to change MARK to PETER, without having to open,click,retype,save,close every file. Is it possible to automatize it somehow? maybe lisp, batch or even VB?
View 2 Replies View RelatedI have a lisp routine that gathers all xrefs from the current drawing and creates a script that opens each xref, runs specific commands then saves/closes each drawing. Once all commands have been ran in each xref I would like the script to reload all xrefs in the original drawing that the script was called from. I have a reload-all lisp that is already loaded in all of my drawings but for some reason when this command is called at the end of the script it will not run.
Is there a way to have the script continue to run in the original drawing that it was called from? Or maybe even pass control back to the lisp that created/called the script? Its seems to me that the easiest thing would be to have the script continue to run after it has gone through all of the specified drawings but this is not working.
Is it possible to loop through multiple files in a directory?

I am trying to make a script file to open a drawing and run a lisp routine. They both work independently just fine, the script file will open the all of the files fine... and the lisp is in the startup suite and works in all the files. But when I tell the script file to open the first drawing then run the lisp it hangs trying to open the next file after running the lisp. I have Filedia set to 0, but the message I get when it goes to open the next is "No canvas exists. click New Canvas." (And on top of that... Filedia even set back to 1 still does not display the Dialog box anymore, I have to shut down AutoCAD 2012 and start again then it works.) I Have tried several ways, Opening one at a time then run lisp, and open all files first and then try to run lisp (that closes the file after running) and try and run it again in the next... It will only run the lisp one time and then locks up from there.

I've been testing out a few lisps just now, trying to get to the one I want.Somewhere along the line something has changed a setting in the program and I don't know what or how to get it back.
Similar to the PICKFIRST sysvar, but not that. (PICKFIRST is set to 1).
When I select objects and issue a command like move or copy, all is fine.
When I select objects and hit Ctrl+C, the selection set is ignored and I am prompted to select objects.
When I double click on text to edit, the ddedit or mtedit command is issued at commandline, and I am prompted to select an object.
I need a function that accepts a block name as an argument and will insert the named block without fail no matter if the block was made to scale uniformly or not.
How can I determine if the block should be inserted like:
(command "-INSERT" blkn "0,0" 1 0)
or:
(command "-INSERT" blkn "0,0" 1 1 0)
Any way to override existing AutoCAD commands.
Lets try this. When a user types "line" at the command prompt, or hits the "line" button on the toolbar, or chooses "line" from the draw pulldown menu, is there any way I can re-write what line means and draw a circle? (Extreme example)
There are just some commands that I'd like to have a variable set in the background, depending on what the command is. So I'm thinking if I could re-write the "line" command, instead of trying to convince everyone to use and remember a custom command, it would be much more efficient. There are lisp files already loaded in their start-up suite. Not sure if that works.

How I wanted to do it:
The LISP will be loaded on every PC of every person with AutoCAD.
On startup "command_count" will be on 0
When using a command like plinie this happens: (+ 1 command_count)
Commands like zoom, undo etc will be ignored
When command_count reaches 20 it executes the qsave command
If using the qsave command it resets the command_count to 0

I'm creating a drawing set that has over 100 sheets with varying amounts of viewports on each sheet (from one to four). Each sheet is its own file, so there is only one layout per file. For each section of the drawing set, the viewports will have the same layer state.
Is there were a way to update the layerstate of each viewport through a batch LISP routine? This would save me DAYS in opening each file, importing the layer state, and restoring it for each viewport. It seems straight forward, but I have no idea where to start with batch routines.
I am writing a program to grab a bunch of layers from a list, check a drawing to see if the layers are on the list, and if not save to an external file. I have the second part of the program done, but I can't get the first part to work.
I am trying to open a file read the contents and save it to a list.

but it wont run the base command after it finishes the 3P command

My lisp is meant to do the following:
draw a rectangle with ”0” fillet. It can be done either via rectangle command, or pline command. The attached lisp has the variant with the pline-case.
The, I need to draw inside a smaller rectangle, with a fillet value, that is promoted and indicated by the user. The smaller rectangle must be centered inside the bigger one. I thought it was a good idea, to take one insertion-point for the bigger rectangle.
and to calculate a 2-nd insertion-point for the smaller rectangle, via "polar" function.
What I get:
the 2-nd insertion point is put the same as the 1-st one.
I wish to draw the bigger rectangle with one layer "example: Layer 1", and the smaller rectangle with another layer "example: Layer 2".
Im using AutoCAD 09 for the first time and need to find out how to customise my snap commands to F keys. I've been using 2004 and it was really easy. 09 seems to not allow it?
for example i set F4 to end point and F5 to intersection point etc. it saves using O snap or a tab. just L, F4 and its done (for example)

View 1 Replies View RelatedI have a simple lisp function to add a scale axis to a drawing by calling a script, renamed the drawing by appending "withScale" to the file name, and then closing the file. I placed a call to the function in the acad.lsp file in the startup suite. The idea was to batch process all files by simply opening them. Upon open the startup acad.lsp file runs, which calls my lisp function, which in turn calls the scale script. It should then execute the renaming, saving, and closing commands. The problem is that it is calling the script fine and renaming the file, but it does not save the changes before closing. Here is the lisp function

Apparently you cannont run any lisp commands after calling a script, however the renaming still follows through.
I've attached the script file as well. (I couldn't attach .scr format so you may need to rename it).
I'm able to add custom panels/buttons into the Ribbons, by cloning the existing ribbon (from acade.cuix) into my partial cuix. However.. I'm not able to add more commands to the shortcut menus, using the same technique.
Is it possible to add custom commands to existing shortcut menus using a partial cuix?

I have a lisp I use to calculate the area of an object. The section below is the area part of it:

Lisp (or a native way) to lengthen multiple polylines or lines at once to the same length by entering that length? I found the following lisp routine which extends a line an entered amount, but it has to be on a specific layer, and I want to enter the finished length, not how much to extend it.

The problem I'm having is that when I have the user input prompts in a macro i can screw up the command if i accidentally miss picking my selection set. I'm new to LISP and having trouble with selection sets and selection filtering.
On another note: I'm trying to rename layers copied this way to remove the "$0$" and using the rename command swapping $0$* with * works, however in the -rename command it does not.
I'm using a Lisp which searches a certain folder and then updates all blocks, which are nested in that folder.
My issue is, that I'd like to use more than one folder on different path, where the LISP can search for this files. Is there a way to use multiple search path?
The code I'm using now to search for the blocks is: (setq dir "I:\AutoCAD Blöcke\Template\Support")
