I am displaying stationing for my points, the points were brought in with a user defined classification. Then a table was created with the classification.
Base file- table looks good / when I xref the table it loses the station formatting.
I even tried importing all my user defined tables and styles and still didnt work

I have made Property clasification for importing attribute imformation from an ascii file.
In the drawing all the information show up.
However, importing the survey point into the survey database, I loses the property classification attributes.
How do you add user defined property classification to the survey database?
I have defined 3 user-defined contours for various elevations in my pond. I would like to disply them differently from one another, so I set their display styles in the analysis window where I created them. Unfortunately, the are only displayed per the settings in the surface style which is 1 - not what I want and 2 - all identitical. I have tried various settings in the surface style, but the contours will not display the way I have selected in the analysis window.

I need to update the user defined property values using C# code,I can see information on how to ge the values of UDP but cannot see any information on how to modify, edit, update or add information to the UDP of a point.Basically in the attached image i want to add "Street light" to the Type UDP.
View 5 Replies View RelatedI'm trying to add user defined properties to parcels, and then apply various styles to control shading of parcels, and to display some or all of the user defined data, as applicable depending on the values of that data.
I have managed to create a user defined category within my [User-Defined Property Classification] and then create categories within that classification.
The problem I'm having is that I want to be able to see those classifications in prospector so that I can sort based on those values, and then batch assign styles. How to display the classifications.
So - user defined properties for points are great. My only problem is that I can't copy and paste them between drawings without losing the user defined properties. I've tried it in both c3d 2011 and 2013.
I can export them into a user defined point file and import them into another drawing the same way, but that is more cumbersome than just copying and pasting.

I have created a MANHOLE UDP which defines inverts in & out etc as well pipe types and sizes. Is there a way to automatically generate a polyline or feature line which picks up the invertout to invert in of the next manhole by point number? hope that makes sense! I am using Civil3D 2012.

Just upgraded from Civil 3D 2010 32-bit to Civil 3D 2011 64-bit. Over the years several user-defined color books were constructed using the Autocad Color Book Editor. With previous upgrades, these ACB files were simply transferred to the new version and worked OK. However, having upgraded to 2011, when the color books are opened, instead of the original colors, the color pages are corrupted, showing what look like Pantone red, green, and blue colors.

I have created user defiined properties to add up to 5 inverts to a topo point object. Each consists of the direction of the invert as an enumerated list that can be picked from (N, NE, S, SE, etc) and the second is the measured distance from rim down to IE. I created these in order IE1_Dir, IE1_Meas, IE2_Dir, IE2_Meas, etc and the first time I used it everything worked fine and was in the proper order. Now after opening the drawing for a 2nd time all of the UDP's are scrambled making it a bit of a PITA to enter into the proper fields.
I do not see any logical order to why it is displaying this way as if it was in order of creation or alphebetical it would not have changed. Is there any way to correct this or is this a case of Civil 3D is going to do whatever it wants to do?
Can I somehow xref a surface into a drawing and use it to create profiles, sections, gradings etc?
View 2 Replies View RelatedI am getting a lot of grief xrefing a C3D file into an AutoCAD drawing. A bit of background...
Fairly large development project with 270 new familiy houses. The sanitary sewer (SS) network was created using AutoCAD only. All layout drawings and xrefs were created using AutoCAD using AutoCAD templates. Then, here I am, putting the entire SS network in C3D, with its fancy labels and relevant long sections. Now I am supposed to display this C3D network in all the layout plans and get rid of the old 2D SS xref. Well, the blody thing doesn't work! If I try to xref the original C3D file, it will only display the labels. All pipes and structures and long section do not display. Yes, I checked all layers are turned on.
I tried using data shortcuts instead, bringing first the relevant part liist and styles. No luck. Again neither a single pipe nor structure is diplayed, although the prospector in the toolspace shows the network is referenced in the drawing. I am not sure if this matters, but the C3D source drawing contains a second pipe network referenced using data shortcuts which, by the way, doesn't display either when xrefing. I tried xrefing the C3D file using my C3D template and it works fine. So I guess that, somehow, the AutoCAD template used to creat the drawings is preventing some C3D objects to be displayed when xrefed.
I know I could recreate all our layout plans using my C3D template. Unfortunately, that would be a long process since we have quite a few and they're all heavily xrefed, with many layer properties overriden.

I xrefed my surface to my sheet file and everything except the contours show, I evan tried a data shortcut to no avail. I checked vp layers and thawed /on all layers but no contours..

The act of opening the CHM file is no problem from VBA. However, this particular routine does not use a dialog box, only a "select objects" prompt. I want to allow the user to press "F1" or "'HELP" at this point and have it open my CHM file.
In lisp, you can use (setfunhelp) to do this.
So in theory, if the VBA sub is called like this:
(defun c:foo ()(vl-vbaload "c:/program files/
directory>/sample/vba/drawline.dvb"))
...then the lisp function should work, but it doesn't. Pressing "F1" or "'HELP" during the vba routine, simply opens the AutoCAD HELP to the default page.
I have a drawing from an architect, and they have used a user defined hatch pattern. But I cannot use it. I can find it's name, it shows up in properties and in the hatch tools. But it isn't in any *.pat files and I can't copy it into my tool palettes. where I could find it, it shows up just fine in the drawing, but I can't figure out how to use it in other areas, not even within the same drawing.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI am having some trouble with hatch patterns. We are using FM Systems as our CAFM tool and there is a plugin for it within AutoCAD. The plugin allows you to create hatch patterns for things such as departments and space types. Right now this is working perfectly within AutoCAD 2012. However, when I try to run the routine within AutoCAD 2014, the only hatches that show up are the solid ones. In other words, any pattern that is not a solid pattern does not show up. I tried comparing all of the Hatch System Variables between 2012 and 2014, but still get the same thing.
View 7 Replies View RelatedI am able to create my own leader style, a loop, similar to the "dot blank" option that ACAD provides.
However, as with any leader style, once you pick the starting point of your leader you must extend it a certain length in order for the arrow, dot, slash, etc. to appear. This is a draw back in tight spaces where you are trying to fit the leader and the subsequent text.
Basically I would like to know if there is a setting that will allow me to pick the starting point of the leader and have the shortest length of leader line while still showing the "arrowhead".
I realize I can scale down the arrowhead type to give me more space. I realize I can explode the leader and shorten the line portion of the leader. I realize I can create a block of a "leader" that will give the appearance that I am looking for.
However, these are last ditch options if there is no solution.
