After Effects :: Merge / Blend 2 Layers To Move And Track Together?
Nov 8, 2013
I have an old man whose eyes are slitty and so I have created a white with a layer and feathered it round his wrinkles and it looks ok. I can add mask track to this in ae and also track it in mocha. I have an iris import clip that I then need to add to the white. It is in .png.
I cannot make a mask path appear on the layer information to the left of the screen so the iris dances about and can't be tracked.
How do I blend the white mask layer and the iris layer so they move as one? Do I put them together then track them togethr in mocha?
I have spent a day on this trying to figure it. On top of that I would also like to clone an eyelid half open so that I can put this on top of white layer, iris layer and then eyelid and track all together. But if possible the white and iris moving together would be enough.
In the instructions on youtube I have also found that when I hit 3d little cube icon I get a black background on the iris and not the old mans face how do I get rid of that?
This is for a man who gets wolf eyes in the film. Would it be easier to get some wolf eyes in photoshop and stick those on? the clip is just 4 secs long.
I am using CS and the “blend” tool to create a train track but I cannot seem to get the spacing to look right. I tried adding a 3rd railroad tie in the middle but that didn’t work either. How I can get more spacing in the foreground and less in the distance?
For what I need Photoshop for, I use CMD-E all the time to create raster graphics from vector shapes. I often use this feature to combine shape layers to create buttons. So, this completely destroys my work flow. The only work around I've found is to create an additional raster layer to merge with the vector layers.
Photoshop CS2, I have two images (ImageA and ImageB),2) I want to place ImageB onto a canvas with ImageA - this I can do,3) When I place ImageB onto the canvas and nudge it to ImageA, I want the RIGHT side of ImageA to Blend/Merge/Feather with the LEFT side of ImageB.The result is that I do not want to see the edges of either images when they are nudged together. I'd like them to "Flow" together. Also, I'd like to be able to put a "Glow Around" then entire merged content, but Ithink I have a link that explains this.I am not sure of the terminology above - Blend/Merge/Feather
Well I have tried all the video tutorials and instructions found on the net but NOTHING works as yet.As far as the printed results from net searches go I get so far along and then the instructions cannot be followed because the item it says is on the menu is just not there on MY menu.
What I want to do is to take a portrait from one photo (Freehand Selection tool to select JUST the face?) and blend/merge it on the background photo. I want to be able to change the size and opacity of the face so that I get the EXACT result I want.
I have two areas of different plain colors, meeting at a hard edge. I want to blend the two areas so they merge gradually from one color into the other without any obvious edge
I'm an inexperienced CS5 user and have spent hours trying to do this using various tools, without a decent result. There must be a way that I haven't found!
the blending options are normal for TEXT and BG, but I have soft light for SHADOW. Now the BG layer actually contains an illustration which makes my shadow look realistic, however what Im trying to do is, save the picture with a transparent background with only TEXT and SHADOW showing, but as soon as I hide BG, the SHADOW layer will go back to the black color I drew and not look like a shadow. I tried merging text and shadow but either the TEXT gets soft light and gets ruined or SHADOW becomes normal and gets ruined. Its very late, ive been trying to figure it out for the past 4 hours so I hope I explained it clearly.
merged layer results to a slight different color compare to its original unmerged layers. the result is that the merged layer has more bluish, What's wrong and what's the solution?. Im using CS3.
I would like to know how to use a Transition without it affecting all tracks above it?
For example, if you apply a crossfade transition to a title track to make it fade-in, it will also affect the video track(s) above. The videotrack will suddenly turn black and then fade in together with the title.
Actually it will affect every track above the transition effect. So if you use for example the 'Switch Off' transition on the 2nd title track, it will also switch off the 1st title track, any possible overlay tracks and the main video track.
I can't imagine this should be happening. Is it a bug on my computer or is it a software issue
I am experiencing a strange issue on a comp I am working with, and due to the way its set up, and the pre-comps etc, I am not even sure how to go about asking the questions!
1) To start:
I have a comp with 3 Footage layers. One 4K Moving background image from Video blocks, interpreted at 25FPS. One R3D clip of one of our ships, camera on a tripod and ship "Waggling" slightly up and down - kept in RAW mode for clean keying. A duplicate of this layer, used as the colour corrected layer.
I have a Comp that contains the RAW footage, Keyed, and the colour corrected footage below it and set to Alpha matte.
Above is the settings and the output of the ships wing.
This is then precomped, and engine glows, contrails and thrusters etc are added with Null objects, lights, optical flares and particular:
at this point, everything looks great, this is then further precomped into a new comp, where it is placed above the background layer - and here is where the issue happens. It is almost as if the trackmatte is a frame or two behind the colour layer:
<-- notice the blue edging from the blue screen.
I track these layers backwards and forwards through the precomps, and I cant figure out why this happens?
(there are keyframes on the trackers above, and the contrail precomps for position, and a scale change over time on the ship layer in the final comp.) If I pull the ships precomp into the final comp as a new layer - the issue remains. If I double click to open the ship layer, the issue is not visible.
I have now exactly the same problem as below with over 1000 images, I have saved them in .psd that has over 100 layers each. On top of those there is curves and levels layer that affects every layer below. I want to save all images to .jpg for videoedit with those curves at least. I don't want to merge same curves 100 times. Is there a solution in phothoshop cs5 or cs6 available? Would save alot of working hours. All I have got by this far is blank white images of adjustment layers and non adjusted jpg-files.
This discussion was opened in 2010 and I quess this is same problem: " How to merge adjustment layers to hundreds of layers?
Jul 28, 2010 10:38 AMSay I have a photoshop File with 100 layers.
And say I created 3 adjustment layers on top of those 100 layers to get the adjustments that i want for those layers. I'm happy with the adjustments but Then I NEED to merge those 3 adjustment layers to ALL those 100 layers.
Is there a way to easily permanently apply the adjustments to each of those layers without having to do it manually? I absolutely need to merge the adjustments to the seperate layers because of how the layers are being used in a seperate 3d program.
So far what I've been doing is duplicating the adjustment layers for each layer and merging them to said layers separately.. I wish I could just right click the adjustment layer and Tell it to merge to everylayer it affects or apply to every layer underneath it!
I thought this would be fixed with version 6 but I guess it isn't or maybe I'm still just doing it wrong. How do you apply a transition effect to just the overlay track. For instance I want to apply dissolve to an animated gif that I'm using in my overlay track but when I do it gets applied to everything and even the primary track blacks out and then dissolves back in. So frustrating. I switched over to final cut pro because of this but love the ease of use of VSP so I bought version 6 hoping this issue had been fixed.
I would like to create an image like the one attached. It has very nice effects including the blending and an added shade of purple to some parts of the image. Anybody knows how I can achieve this in FIREWORKS please?
How can I blend the changes in source text changes? At the beginning of the movie the text is large and red and at a later moment the text moves position and changes to a smaller white text (this part I have fine but the change is drastic from one frame to the next and I'd like to blend that change...??
This has been hit and miss. I am now consistenly getting a dynamic link server connection trying to use Track camera in After Effects.
64GB RAN Windows 7 proffesional i7 processor NVIDIA GEFORCE TITAN
I have enabled all the recommended programs through my firewall. I see the dynamiclink server is running in my task manager, I have closed all other programs, no antivirus, I have restarted my computer, no luck with this.
Also to add additional information:
It seems that when I try to do replace with After Effects composition in Premiere Pro I am getting error: The importer reported a generic error
and also when I first launch After effects I am getting a failure to load a few plugins from CineForm including importer
I am going through our Civil 3D template and purging all layers we do not use. However, there are four assembly layers AutoCAD won't let me delete, but I cannot find any style or object referencing them. If it matters, the layers are C-ROAD-ASSM, C-ROAD-ASSM-BLIN, C-ROAD-ASSM-OFFS, and C-ROAD-SCTN-DIAG.
I have PSE11 and purchased Paint the Moon effects. How can I view both the Layers panel and the Effects panel at the same time? Was this an option in older versions of PSE that are used in the Paint the Moon tutorials?
I'm running Win Vista 32bit with 3gig of RAM. When trying to use the Auto-Blend feature of CS4 I get an error message that says Could not Auto-Blend the layers because there is not enough memory (RAM)." The only way I'm able to get this feature to work is if I reduce my image size to less than 1/4 of my original file size. I started with an image that was 4221 pixels wide, and I had to reduce it down to 1000 pixels before the blending feature wold work.
Does anyone know how much RAM this feature needs to work on a full size image? Is there anyway I can set up Vista to allocate more of my RAM to CS4? When I go under preferences > performance, it tells me that I have 1641mb of RAM available. Is there a way I can set this so more of my RAM is allocated to CS4?
When I make panoramas in Photoshop CS6 (after selecting and preparing individual images in LR4), I sometimes wish to modify Photoshop's automatic blending of layers. An example is when a moving person is in two or more adjacent frames & I wish to use a version from a different frame than PS selects. The layer masks are all either pure white or pure black, thus selecting the portions of each frame that is used, but with no gray portions for blending. Opacity of all layers is 100%. So, some other invisible-to-me mechanism is being used to seamlessly blend the layers. When I try to select portions of a different frame (in areas of overlap) by painting white on a mask and black on layer masks above it in the stack, I can partially make visible the desired area but it appears as partially transparent & thus low contrast. How can I get full control of what is included in the final composite?
Having a rough time trying to blend a face onto another face, been watching tutorials. I have both layers selected now and I go to Edit > Auto-Blend Layers, but the option is faded and I can't choose it! What could be causing this issue?
I'm having a huge issue in designing my up and coming website.
I've numerous layers within my soon to be designed page - however, a few of these layers are set to different blend modes (Overlay, Screen and Lighten).
I need to ensure that these layers remain looking the way they do on my page when they're part of my flattened site, but it's just not working for me. When I flatten all layers, it looks as I want it - however I can't do that, as I will ultimately be using a tiled background layer, and the background layer I'm using now is only as a guide.
how I can merge down a ('Screen', for example) layer, without it losing its screen look?
For successive layers, all have different blend modes ... for finding the pixel values seen on screen, we should start with the bottom most layer ... isn't it?
I'm using CS6 and wondered of there was a way to change the default blend mode of an adjustment layer?
For example, if you use the Curves adjustment, as well as increasing contrast it also increase saturation. I like to use the "Luminosity" blend mode so that I get the contrast without the saturation. By default, I'd like to be able to specify that any Curves layer I use should use Luminosity blend mode.
I have two layers. One is completely red (r255,g0,b0). The other layer is completely green (r0,g255,b0).
How can I make it so that if I lower the opacity of the green layer (which is above the red layer), to 50% that the result is completely yellow (r255,g255,b0)?
I've tried all the blending options, none of them achieve this basic effect. The closest I got was something that looked like a darker orange.
I obviously got far enough to add the images together and get the correct size. I just cant find any tutorials to show me how to make the layers blend and look more natural. I added a new background to an image and I want it to look like it belongs there:
