I have been searching everywhere for clues to which plugins and effects are the best. I have downloaded dozens of "pro plugins" only to find out they are all made from the same lame user programmable plugin architecture from ten years ago.
I am tired of installing all kinds of "pro" plugins and trying them all out just to discover how completely un-artistic and low quality they are. Code:
The light casting behind that character is what im talking about. I have looked and havent found much info on it. One person told me it was a program called Particle Illusion but I purchased it and it didint work or even go near anything like that. Another person sugested light factory but that also didint work.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI had a picture of some flowers that I took and I thought they came out pretty nice but the background was a mess. I have extracted before, many times but not really much with the extract tool. So I decided to give myself a project and to extract this picture using the extract tool and the history brush which I also never use. I knew these tools were available but always took alternate routes to extract.
I also sharpened the flowers, etc. It took me quite a while but it was a fun and educational project and I wanted to share my results and get some opinions. Here are the 2 pics, any comments are appreciated as I would really like to be able to master this technique. If you click on the extracted image you can see a bigger version of it.
What is the deal with simply trying to have a saved repeatable (editable maybe even?) record of everything that was done to a file?
I never understood why the history palette doesn't just have a save option.
I can't even figure out what practical function the "snapshot" feature has.
So I figured out how to record the history in the metadata of a file. The problem is when trying many things and then selecting previous history state, the metadata does not purge the redundant and now NON-existant actions done to the file. Instead what is recorded is the action that was done, then an indication that you "selected previous history state". Code:
I'm pretty new to photoshop, and I've started on a personal project. I want to basically take a video still from a music video and turn it into a poster. Sadly i can not find a good quality version of the video as it is older and not super famous, (kyuss-one inch man). So i found an online video that is better then youtube but not great, and i captured it through the vista snipping tool (screen capture).
Basically I want to take this low quality picture, and turn it into a good quality poster (not huge). What techniques and things must I do? I'll probably have to find a printer near here and require a specific dpi as well.
I've been using AutoCAD since 97 and am currently running AutoCAD LT 2010. I've never used Paper Space because it just seemed easier to manage things with Layer Manager. At this point, I'm figuring out how to do it (slowly but surely). My question is this: do most of you use it and what are the advantages? Took me a long time to find out about double-clicking a viewport perimeter or just double clicking within the space of it.

My question is how to maintain high quality (original quality) of a image after resizing it?
If i resize it with same ratio like:
2816x2112px to 1600x1200px (4:3)
2816x1584px to 1920x1080px (16:9)
Mainly i use scale image option in Gimp. But now i need to resize many images for my work so i tried David's Batch Processor to resize my images. After using it, i found there is some quality promble with the resized image.
Then i tried, the scale option with, use quality setting from original image and JPEG quality parameter is 95, in gimp but the problem is same. I did it with also with David's batch processor- JPEG quality parameter is 95.
Other thing is that, the original image 2816x2112px (4:3), size- 3.6 MB is displaying in image viewer with 47% and the resized image 1600x1200px (4:3). size- 1.2 MB is displaying in image viewer with 83%, So my questions are: How can i check the quality of a image after resizing it, means the image is exactly same as the original? Or Is David's Batch Processor maintain the original quality of the images after resizing?. I realy need to resize many images for my work.
I am trying to import photos from my computer to Photoshop elements 11. It has imported most but wont import some as "file quality is too high". How do I get around this? Do I have to downgrade the quality of my photos? To do editing wouldn't you want the best quality photos to start off with?

View 1 Replies View RelatedI own Design and web Premium CS6 and Lightroom 5.2 running with NIK and Canon Printer iPF9100 plugins running just fine on a Win7 machine.
I purchased and installed PhotoShop CC about a month ago/ When I start PhotoShop CC from the exec file the NIK and Canon plugins do not show up. If I am in Lightroom and ask to edit in PhotoShop CC the file opens in PhotoShop CC and I can access both plugins. If I am in Lightroom the NIK plugin is available and works just fine.
I have tried putting the plugins in:

My Canon dealer says the driver and plugin for my printer work just fine on other customers machines.
I upgraded from CS4 to CS6 and have not been able to see my plug-ins in CS6. I tried reinstalling them and dropping them in the CS6 file and still can't see them.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI use Photoshop CS3. All plug-ins used to work before. Now with some of the plug-ins (liquify+vanishing point+artistic for example) the following happens:
- plug-in dialog window opens
- i can make changes and see the preview of them in the plug-in window
- i can apply the plug-in
- then PS displays a dialog saying something like "applying effect.."
- but when that is finished I'm back at my original image without the plug-in effect being applied (nothing shows in history window)
I've tried uninstalling/reinstalling Photoshop but the problem remains. I even tried installing a demo of PS CS4 but have the same problem with that version.
The error appears on the plugins with a more sophisticated user interface, the ones with the basic UI (like gaussian blur etc) still work ok.
like to know that ABSoft have just released their 64-bit version of Neat Image Photoshop 64-bit plugin.
View 6 Replies View RelatedI have an old version of Photoshop (3.0) which I've never updated because frankly it still suits my needs.(which are limited). I realized recently that when I switched from Windows 95 to Windows 98 se a few years back I lost some of my filters, like clouds and mezzotint, ripple, lighting and a handful of others. When I go back and fire up the 95 machine they are there. Also I notice they are in the plugin folder but not showing up on the menu. The best investigation I've turned up is that Photoshop(at least on the 98 machine) says it doesn't recognize the file extention?( 8bf files )although the computer lists this as a recognized file.( 8bf )

View 2 Replies View RelatedI've recently converted from CS5 to CS6. I noticed that CS6 was pointing to CS5 for plugins rather than CS6. I made the mistake of trying to move the plugin folder from CS5 to CS6, which made a bit of a mess. I ended up reinstalling CS6, getting the most current updates, and uninstalling and reinstalling my Nik plugins, and this time they went into the correct folder (CS6 instead of CS5) -- no problem, everything worked, except for Dfine which said it was only compatible with CS5.
I got the most recent version, which is to work for CS6; I uninstalled the old Dfine; installed the new one. Everything looks fine. Except that when I attempt to use it in CS6, it crashes completely and shuts everything down. I've uninstalled and reinstalled, and gotten new downloads, etc. But this continues to happen. Everything else seems to work fine. The plug-ins are all together where they are supposed to be.
They all show up on the filter menu. I've exhausted all possibilities on the Nik side, and now I'm wondering if there's something on the Adobe Photoshop side.
My Collection of Nik plug-ins are installed to PS6. I don't know how to get them into PS CC.I also want to know how to set up the link so I can jump from PS to LR and back while editing an image.I am working on Mac desktop.
