I have to retouch 80 pictures with the same black spots in a withe background and all pictures are different, but the spots are in the same place, Probably the sensor was dirty? and I know I?ll have to open them all one by one to check but is much better if some of them are all right yet...
Could not use the clone stamp tool because the area to clone has not been defined (option-click to define a source point). this is what shows up in the command box when ever I click to start to pick the spot i want to use as the clone. makes my cloning tool useless. I have reset the tools restrted my computer.
I'm trying to use the clone tool to erase creases around an eye.
I have the layer with the eye in it active, I choose the clone tool, I hit CTRL and click the area of flesh around the eye I want to copy, I see a moving outline of the flesh that's being copied, It works spiffingly! I change brush size to work in a smaller area, I hit CTRL and click the area of flesh I want to copy, I see a moving outline of the flesh I want to copy, But nothing! My cursor moves, but no cloning going on.
This has been plaguing me for a while but I've had projects going that I didn't want to interrupt. It's gotten to the point that I just can't take it anymore. I really need the clone tool for this phase of this project
i am trying to build an action where the end product is a channel listing that has all the channel (R-G-B-L-C-Y-M-K (forget LAB a-b)). this will allow me to look at all the channels for contrast and subsequent extraction. i'm actually able to do this as i RECORD the action. but when i RUN the action, nothing happens.
in recording the action, i create a DUPLICATE IMAGE, then convert the new image to LAB. i then drag the "L" channel to the original image. it goes into the original image as an alpha channel which i rename to "Lightness." i then convert the duplicate image to CMYK and then one-by-one DRAG the individual channels to the original image. at the end of this process, i have all eight channels visible in the channels palette. this is what i want.
but then, when i RUN the action on a new image, the action fails to RECORD the "drag step and drop" step. the "L," "C," etc. channels are not dragged during the running of the action.
needs to overlay a grid over a photo and then save it as another file. In CS5.5 or earlier, no problem, but in CS6 it is not working for either of us.
The batch action (run from either Photoshop or Bridge) stops and prompts at the Save command every time no matter what format we save it in (psd, png, jpg, save for web, etc.).
I have been through the Web and the Adobe Forums and cannot find a work around for this. He cannot just hit enter everytime the popup window comes up because he has over 2700 photos to put this grid on.
For some reason the clone tool does not work in either PhotoShop 7.0 or PhotoDelux Business 1.0 (also Adobe). I think this has happened in the past but switching tools and then switching back fixed it. I uninstalled both of the above programs and reinstalled PS only. Not only does the clone tool not work as before but I was surprised to find the tool bars on my second monitor as before. I would had thought a fresh installation would set the program as it originally was (tool bars on the same monitor as the workspace). It makes no difference what the source or type of file I work with. Smudge and Healing Brush work fine. I was advised to delete Preferences by following: Documents and Settings(user)Application Data and on to .psp, however, I can't find 'Application Data'; and, using 'Search' does not turn up *.psp. I use Windows XP Professional.
I installed the new version of PS right now but when I start with CLONE STAMP saw something unusual! I disabled the "Show Overlay" feature, when I press ALT and make a Copy from one place and when I want to paste it in another place sometimes it confused and past unusual, specialy sometimes is paste out of brush area, The settings of the tool is the same as PS CS6 and when I switch to CS6 I have no problem same as before.
I have a multi layered image where all the layers are of the same image with different effects. Is there a way I can align the clone source point to the same point on a different layer? I am using PS CS (version 1)
I'm just starting to use CS4 which has some nice little features, but also behaves differently with some tools. The clone tool is excellent because you can position the clone before you apply it (you can see where it is going), but how do you clear the clone brush ater you've cloned something. if you've used the clone tool in CS4 you'll know what I mean.
I do not have a full understanding of this tool. I am constantly bumping into what is trying to clone an area and not able to control boundries of the brush.
When I select a location from which I want to clone the pixel colors/properties and then begin to paint in the target location, the results are of pixels from areas that are outside of what I want, or thought I had selected.
I have reset tools, reset preferences, checked opacity, blending mode, made sure I am on a active layer, duplicated background layer, used a different file to see if the same result occurred, checked channels palette for rgb active. Done everything but re-install software,
in p/s cs, when i use the clone tool, i am stuck with the first clone point. if i move to another part of the image and try to set a new point/example, instead of setting that point as my new point, i get a disc of the same point i used for the first clone work.
I am using CS4, and my clone tool will act up every once in a while by cloning to an area that I have not gone over. I will be cloning and then when I start an area, nothing happens to the area cloned (the area I am trying to cover over with selected area), then suddenly another area of the photo will show the clone.
I have reset my settings by doing a CTRL, Shift, ALT at startup.
The Clone Stamp no longer works right. It's slow and sampling results are all over the place. It will sample from areas I never even ALT clicked on. And it can't keep up with rapid sampling and stamping. As is, Photoshop CC is totally unusable for photo retouching work.
I switched back to CS6, which still works fine, so the problem is NOT on my end. Running Windows 7 64bit. Photoshop CC 64bit.
I'm trying to create a clone composite from a tutorial in a magazine using Photoshop CS. When I create the layer for each image, the tutorial says the layer box should be black whereas mine is white. I have tried various settings inclding the changing the two overlapping black/white squares on the left handside and cannot find any way to make the layer box black.
When I retouch skins with the clone brush and I have to draw on medium tones with a small brush I easily lose the visibility of the cursor.
Over dark and bright tones the contrast of the cursor with the skin is high and i don't have problems.I tried to change the cursor's preferences but it didn't work, so i ask if there are some tricks like this:
change the threshold of switching black/white cursor to a brighter value, i think it switches near 50% of color Brightness, if i could change that value near 30% my problem is over.
looking at the aspect of the cursor i see that is built with a white dominant and a black outline and viceversa black dominant and white outline, it could be a 3 lines profile?
Is there a mode that allows the clone stamp to, in a sense clone itself? So if the target goes over an area that you just brushed with the clone stamp it will actually begin to clone from that, instead of the document state prior to cloning?
My son banged on my keyboard while I was in the middle of editing a photo using the clone tool. Now the tool is looks as though it's working when I'm sampling an area but when I go to change the designated area it isn't doing anything. And it's got a bright white spot in the circle.
Each time i try to use my actions is says"could not use the clone stamp because the area to clone has not been defined (option-click to define a source point)" or "unable to do.
I am familiar with the operation of the clone tool in previous versions of Photoshop.... However after upgrading to CS6 I am having a problem with the functionality of the clone tool.
Basically when using the clone tool when its set to 100% opacity & flow, it looks as though the clone tool is only set to 50% opacity.I am using the default configuration that came with the program.
My previous version was CS3... clone tool worked perfectly there...why the same tool doesnt perform the same way with the same apparent settings.
I only have a pattern stamp tool can't seem to find a clone tool anywhere... I thought it had both. when I click on the pattern stamp there is only that tool nothing else to select...is it a setting under the pattern tool? or is it somewhere else completely?
some of these vertical and horizontal remnants remain. I can reclone and reclone, and the same horizontals will be there, sometimes a vertical changes if I reshape the selection. Even at the smallest selection size, it remains. I have tried rebooting and turning all memory hogs off (I have 12gb of ram).
Why is it that when i choose the clone or healing brush tools that the brush stays in a star like configuration. No matter how much i resize the picture of play with brush sizes it won't chane to the circle. then it suddenly pops into place. What should i be doing or not doing. it doesn't happen all the time but it is very frustrating when it does.
