Photoshop :: CS6 - Save As EPS - No JPEG Preview?
Aug 29, 2012I was just trying to save a 8-Bit CMYK file as Photoshop EPS - I can only choose TIFF as preview format. How's that?

View 25 RepliesI got this workflow,
1) From LR export to PS
2) Do all essential editings.
3) Save. File become 'xyz.tiff' now. (I want to keep this as master copy)
4) Crop to 4r, Save a Jpeg copy as 'xyz 4r.jpg'
5) PS save it as a copy, but do not automatically open the Jpeg copy. The tiff remains opened. I have to manullay Open, browse to it, and open the Jpeg. The 'Open Recent' list also do not list 'xyz 4r.jpg'.
6) Do 4r sharpening for the 'xyz 4r.jpg', save it.
Basically the files I want to keep and worked on is like this: NEF -> xyz.tiff -> xyz 4r.jpg -> xyz sml.jpg(maybe)
Now, it there a way in step (5) to have PS save the JPEG copy, and automatically open it? I don't care if the Tiff copy remains opened or not, I am done with it.
I got a new computer (Windows 7) at work this April and as of today, when I work on any of my JPEG images in PS CS5,suddenly it has defaulted its "Save As" to JPEG2000. How did this default change and how do I get it to default save as. JPEG again? There was nothing I noticed and no warning as to why this has changed, I didn't touch a thing!
(Last week, Adobe had to work with our IT manager to fix a problem that started occuring with my new Adobe Acrobat Pro 11 program. They had to log into my computer and change a registry thing to get it to work properly again...also something that changed without warning!!)
From the start, I wasn't able to save to jpeg without getting a dcm extension (no jpg extension). However, if I saved to Multi-picture Format, I would get the familiar .jpg and everything worked fine for a while. This morning I cannot find a file format in "save as" that results in the .jpg file extension.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI have a PSD file (16bits/prophoto RGB) with some layers. I combine the layers to ONE and change the bit depth to 8 bits.
Then I do one of two things:
(a) I save the file for the web in JPEG 90% high-quality and with sRGB ... filesize 340 602
(b) I change the color profile to sRGB and save the file as JPEG in the highest quality (10) ... filesize 174 549
I am at loss here. How on earth is it possible that the second file is almost half the size as the one saved for the web? What effect causes this? It is very easy to save for yhe web but as long as the JPEGs are that bigger it's no option.
when im about to save my file *project* nothings happen
View 2 Replies View RelatedI am working on many files today and for some reason, even though they are JPG files, when I save them, the dialog box comes up and wants to save it as a PSD. It's wasting a TON of time because I have to change it to JPG even though the file is already. I tried the open as-JPG option on any of them and it gives me the error message of -"Could not complete your request because the file-format module cannot parse the file". I'm in CS6 because there were too many issues with Photoshop CC.
View 12 Replies View RelatedI got a file that's only let me do Save for Web in jpg format. I choose png24, click save and it changes to jpg in the save dialog. Then I created a blank doc, copy everything from the problem file over to the new file and I can Save for Web in png just fine.

View 4 Replies View RelatedWe recently upgraded to X5 and are having trouble with the Previews for JPEG. When I try to preview a jpeg under the standard cmyk setting it comes up as a black box. If I change it to RGB then I can see it. It didn't happen at first but once I downloaded the update it started.

View 2 Replies View RelatedWith LR4 and a Nikon D7000.When i import that raw in lightroom, the first view of the picture is fine then LR do its "loading" and bang, the picture changes. As RAW is not supposed to be affected by the colorspace My understanding is the embeded preview in the raw is sRGB and LR work in a different colorspace. If i change the camera for AdobeRGB, i dont have the problem and what i see from the camera to the preview then the final result is consistent. But this cause me another problem because i shoot RAW+jpeg, the backup JPEG saved in the other memory card is now AdobeRGB as well and less compatible as everybody knows, for web, print labatory, etc...
I dont have in LR any automatic developement settings. My screen is calibrated with a Spyder 3.
I'm feeling stuck in the corner as i want by backup JPEG in sRGB and n o colorshift in LR.
I just started using Lightroom 4.1 Trial version (coming from Aperture). I exported JPEG versions of some images using an ICC profile. On my iMac running Lion 10.7.5 the pictures do not show a thumbnail, the file on the desktop just shows "JPEG". I could not open the file with the Preview App, but I am able to open it with DPP (Canon software)? Also the file shows that it has 0 x 0 dimentions when I click Get Info even though it is about 25 Megs in size?
The message I get is "The file “Edit-739820120223Canon EOS 7D.jpg” could not be opened. It may be damaged or use a file format that Preview doesn’t recognize."
In PS 6, is there a way to save a eps file with a 8 bit Mac preview? When scripting our database errors when the eps is saved with the 8 bit tif preview.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI am having an issue in Save for Web where the .gif animation preview works very slow and choppy. I am an advertising designer and many times I need to work on animated .gif banners. I am working with Photoshop CS6. When I play the animation in the frame timeline the animation speed works as intended, a little choppy but the timing isn't too bad. However when I go into the Save for Web screen and play the animation it always appears a lot slower and looks choppy. Anything se to 0.0 or No Delay runs as if its set to .1 seconds. Now if I export the file and open it in Chrome the animation speed seems to go back to normal. This wasn't always the case, I tested this 2 or 3 months ago and the animation speed in the export was also slow and choppy but it must have been fixed in one of the updates since then.
My issue is I don't want to have to preview everything in Chrome after I export it, and then possibly have to go back and tweak it then save again, preview again etc. I have never encountered this issue in previous versions on Photoshop or other machines. Ususally my experience has been the opposite, the frame timeline has always been slower, but previewing in Save fro Web has shown a pretty accurate preview.
I also have a HP laptop running Windows 7, photoshop CS6 and I don't encounter this issue at all. Default answer on all of the forums is "different browsers handle .gif animation speeds differently, etc.." but int he past I have saved a .gif on my mac and it was slow and choppy in the Chrome, then I saved the same file on my PC transfered it back to the mac and previewed in Chrome and the animation played quickly and smoothly.
I can't see it being a hardware issue because the machine I am using is farily new. iMac Late 2013/2013, 3.4 Ghz Intel Core i7, 16GB RAM, NVIDIA GeForce GTX 675MX 1024 MB, running OSX 10.8.4 Mountain Lion.
Could it possibly be a setting or preference that needs to be changed? As I stated above it seems that now when I export the animation works fine in the browser the preview is just slow.
i just installed my new Photoshop cs6 (with the design standard package, student edition), and set about to make some graphics.
i selected a new file, 300ppi, and set to work.
after a while, i flatten the image and go to save when i go to save drop down, i get a bunch of odd cool-sounding options, raw, and tiff.seeing as i just made a normal no-frills graphic, i choose tiff.
when i re-open image, i get a really crappy version of the image, with some odd color bars to one side.
Is it possible to save a 15-20MB raw file to 25MB or more jpeg?
View 1 Replies View RelatedWhen ever I try and save as a png or jpeg photoshop cc crashes and the file doesn't save. Also there is a warning button next to save that when i click it it says:

I just finished creating a multi-layered document with photos and text and tried to save it as a JPEG so that I could use it in a slide show.I had done this a couple of days earlier and now PS6 won't let me.
The only option is a GIF which looks lousy. The only thing I can think of is that I've recently downloaded ACR 7.1beta.
CS4, Mac OS X 10.7.5. JPEG is suddenly no longer offered as an option. Save for web still works, but I want to export a large image (not for web) using Save As... which I could always do previouly. I can't see a plug-in for it in the File Formats folder, but I don't know whether it used a separate plug-in anyway.

I've tried everything, but it wont work -_-' The onyl things i can choose from in the "save as" menu is wierd formats i can't reccon..
I just bought a mac, so I am completely mac stupid. I am having to learn everything all over again. I am running photoshop cs and when i go to save a pic as a jpeg, I then go to the folder that I saved it to and its not there. I can find it by typing the file name in the search menu. But when I click on it from there it keeps opening it up in photoshop. It shouldnt do that because its supposed to be just a regular jpeg.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI cannot save some images I've edited in the JPEG Format. Although I choose JPEG and overwrite the proposed filename (always xy.psd (!), I've selected already JPEG Format) with something like xy.jpg, the file is saved in photoshop fileformat (the file is something like 25mb big, it has the ending jpg but cannot be read from another application like ms paint -> original size of image is about 3 megs, jpg fileformat...). I also don't get the dialog box where I can choose the settings (like quality..).

View 14 Replies View RelatedUsing Photoshop CS2 on Mac OSX. I made an image, originally as a Photoshop (.psd) file. I took a JPEG and copied a .bmp on top of it, made some adjustments. Now I want to save as a JPEG (or any basic web format), but Photoshop won't let me. My only options for format are:
Photoshop
Large Document Format
Photoshop PDF
Photoshop Raw
TIFF
What can I do? I need this to be JPEG or GIF.
I made my own Christmas card in Photoshop and saved it out as a JPEG. It will not upload to any of the online Photo Centers nor will it import into iPhoto. For some reason the Adobe jpeg format is incompatible.

In the list of options there is no .JPEG included in the saving option, the ones are there are .TIFF, .RAW, .PSB, .DCM
When i tried saving it as .TIFF and chose Jpeg in the list, the result image came about 1.3GB size file which is i think odd..
Suddenly I am unable to save .psd and .tif (maybe others) to .jpeg due to 'program error'. My 'solution' for the moment is to save the .psd using maximum compatibility, then import into Lightroom, then export from Lightroom as .jpeg (ugh!)The .psd mode is 8-bit RGB. I have 155GB of space left on the HDD. I was able to save to .jpeg a few days ago,
