View 9 RepliesA friend has a low-end laptop with a graphics score of 3.4 and is experiencing issues attempting some filters. My laptop is reflecting 6.9 which is likely overkill, but what the minimum system should be.

If the Windows Experience graphics score is a poor predictor of minimum system graphics requirements,
I'd like to hear if anyone has any experience with Lr books. At 35 to 50 bucks each and the hundreds of pages buying the wrong one or many could make a major hole in ones Latte' budget and the time to enjoy them.
In short: experience and recommendations.
Oh yeah, I read the manual that comes in the box, took 15 minutes and was of nearly no use.
At home, I have used Photoshop CS and CS2. At work, I use Photoshop CS4. Even though the later version of Photoshop have somewhat nifty features and a more uniform interface and integration, I still find myself happy and content with CS2 mainly for the introduction of the multi-selectable layer support without all the "extraness". What are your thoughts on past experiences in comparison with the later versions of Photoshop?

View 4 Replies View RelatedThis just started happening after I downloaded DWG TruViewer. I am working on LT 2008 using Fusionware on a MacPro. I needed the viewer to convert newer drawings from an architect. Now, when I double click on a drawing in Explorer a separate AutoCad window opens for each drawing I need open. I prefer to just go up to Window>and click on the one I need at that time, especially if I have several to switch between because it is easier to see the file name I want.
SDI is set to 0
Taskbar is set to 0
Relaunched the program
I can't open files using File>Open because the program crashed each time and Autodesk is not issuing anymore fixes for 2008.  (Yes, we should upgrade but there is no money budgeted)
Right-click on any .dwg file and go to Properties>General>Change> and select the AutoCad LT launcher as the preferred program
Since I am in Window 7 instead of XP the File Types tab has been removed from Folder Options  so I can't fix it that way.
So, why did this change? FYI that stupid TruViewer made lots of unnecessay changes to my AutoCad and Explorer programs that I am still trying to sort out like changing the file icon and hiding the file extensions. Are they trying to make it hard to find files or what?
And next, how can I reset the default so that double clicking on a .dwg in Explorer opens in already open AutoCad window?
We can preview the DWF files in Windows Explorer with Windows XP but cannot seem to be able to with Windows 7 64.Â

View 2 Replies View RelatedI have Photoshop CS6 on my Windows 7 laptop, and it works fine. But, for Christmas I received a Toshiba Notebook with Windows 8. I tried the trial of Windows 8 on my other laptop a few months ago, but since it was so new not too many programs worked on it. For instance, my VisTablet didn't have updated drivers for Windows 8. Luckily, they do now, but I'm still having the same problem I did with Photoshop CS6 last time. It starts up, and I can see it in my Task Manager. BUT, it dies. It just shuts itself down. It's there one minute, but then you notice the dropping numbers and then it's gone.

How does one keep the windows / panels always on top? That is, when moving around images within Photoshop, I'd like it so the images are not able to cover up the panels / windows on the right side. I know my CS3 version did this automatically, but I can't seem to find a setting for this in CS4.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI just installed the trail version of photoshop cs4 on the 64bit version of the windows 7 RC.Initially I had some problems, similar to when I tried to install it on Vista Home Basic 64bit (which is not supported by cs4 at all) The thumbnail was displaying correctly what should have been in the canvas, but the canvas area itself was not displaying anything other than grey.then I switched off the Windows 7 Aero theme and suddenly everything was working, which is neat. I would have liked to keep aero on, but whatever works...
View 10 Replies View RelatedI was given a couple of of Windows 7 release copies a couple of days ago by a Microsoft rep and I'm thinking of loading one on the laptop, at least, but I'm also considering loading up on the new desktop, but I was wondering how 7 addresses memory. I'm currently running 4 gigs of ram on XP Pro, but I can easily and economically upgrade to 8 gigs.

if I should go ahead and buy one now (Vista) or wait til October (Windows 7). Since I use Photoshop CS4 and Lightroom 90% of the time I'm curious as to what sort of communication takes place between Microsoft and Adobe as to program functionality. Do the large software providers get beta version so they can make any alterations to their software before the fit hits the shan? I know that there are always bugs with new versions of Windows, but I'd really hate it if PS and or LR just plain didn't work at all for any amount of time. Also, has anyone been using the beta version with either PS or LR, and if so,
