Illustrator :: How To Export 72 PPI Image To TIFF Without Pixelation

Aug 25, 2012

I am designing images for printing on vinyl, with the print shop requiring 72 ppi .tiff files.Producing the file in Illustrator (.ai) and printing it produces a clear image on paper without pixellation.
However, when I export to .tiff @ 72 ppi, the result is heavy pixellation which I cannot print. How do I avoid this pixelation when exporting to .tiff in Illustrator CS6?

Illustrator :: Export TIFF - LZW Compression Not Working?

When you export from Illustrator CS6 or CC in TIF format, you are given the checkbox option of LZW compression, but the output file does not seem to be compressed. When I open this TIF file in Photoshop and do a Save As, selecting the LZW option produces a dramatically smaller file than the one produced by Illustrator.

Illustrator :: Same Background Image (TIFF) Appears Different In Different Files

Oct 16, 2013

I am linking to the exact same background image file (TIF) in more than one illustrator file. This image is on the bottom layer in  four different files.
The opacity on the  image and the image's layer is set to 100% in all the files. In the dialog box for each of the layers that contain the image, the "Dim" control is unchecked. There are no other higher layers that contain artwork that might interfere with the image's appearance. two of the files, the image looks full and vibrant. In the other two files, the image looks dim and faded.
Is there another control that I'm missing that might be causing the image to be faded. (I want it to be full and vibrant.)

GIMP :: Degradation Of Image After Extracted From PDF - Pixelation Of Lines

Jan 23, 2013

Basically, I am trying to process a simple drawn map that was scanned and saved as a PDF. The scanned image is old so the paper is yellowed and they scanned it in high res color even though the image is black and white (well, blue ink actually). I just want to make the background white and change the blue/black lines to solid black lines that retain their clarity.

Here is a portion of the image:

The left is the original and the right is what I WANT, but cannot, achieve.

My biggest issue has been pixelation of the lines. I just can't get it smooth like in the right image. I've tried all sorts of filters - blurs, smooths, sharpens etc.. Part of the problem is also the degradation of the image after I extract it from the PDF.

Illustrator :: Diagonal Jagged Pixelation With Pen Tool And Sheared Typefont

Jan 12, 2014

I'm in the midst of making a type based logo right now and I sheared it to give it a bit of a diagonal edge. However, the diagonal lines are now noticeably pixelated and jagged. What I did was type out the name in the logo, then created outlines for it, then sheared it. I went over some of the lines with a pen tool stroke but it is still coming out the same. Here is my logos. The vertical diagonal lines in the E, K, R and I's are especially noticeable.
This is my own personal music producer logo and I am pretty green with illustrator. So how do I make it as clean as this [URL] or some of these [URL].

Photoshop :: Enlarge Image Of Multiple Intersecting Low Resolution Contour Lines While Avoiding Pixelation

Feb 28, 2012

Problem: How to enlarge (100 times) image of multiple intersecting low resolution contour lines wile avoiding pixelation?

Simple answer: It can't be done.

Second thoughts: Well, under some circumstances it can be done... sort of. For example if lines are orthogonal to begin with then simple re-sample to nearest neighbor algorithm will do fine. If lines are simple enough, then tracing them with pen tool and recreating the original lines at higher resolution by stroking the paths with a brush will do also. Also if original lines are smooth and thick enough then some re-sampling, blurring and leveling can work (anisotropic diffusion filter may work) but will produce smoothing artifacts at corners.

From what I can see the problem boils down to creatively converting the original lines to vectors (paths / shapes) and avoiding the whole messiness of raster anti-aliasing. But here we face additional problems: Adobe trace engine is not smart enough to recognize geometric shapes, intersecting lines, straight edges, orthogonal lines and mathematical curves - just try to trace a font and you will end up with a baggy monster. Additionally, it appears that in Photoshop center-line trace is not possible and you are limited to outlines.

Photoshop :: Advantages Of Storing Images In TIFF, TIFF LZW And TIFF JPEG?

My trouble is that all my images are stored in TIFF format which takes up enormous space no matter the storage. Since I output images in various sizes, mainly prints, to 30 x 40 inches, I need a master image archived in the best format for such. However, I do not want to fill my drives, or DVD, with large files. Code:

Illustrator :: Why Is There A Limit To PNG Export Image Sizes

This came to my attention around the CS4 era, but I've recently noticed still remains with CS6 - but just why is there a limit as to what image sizes we can export PNG files at [AKA around the 8000x8000 area at 400dpi for me]?
Surely as long as we have the computing power [and RAM] than we should be able to export beyond the 10000/400dpi pixels range [or does it depend on the computer]?

CorelDRAW Graphics Suite X5 :: TIFF Size Export

Aug 25, 2011

we have just upgraded to x5 and now i have a big problem exporting tiff:

I work for print, not web. lets say i have a 50x50 cm layout. default dpi of document is set at 300. if i want to export that as a tif, it defaults at 300dpi in the export dialogue. until now, in x4, if i checked the maintain aspect ratio and just changed the dpi to lets say, 150dpi, it would only change the % of the size, not the actual size of the tif! now it changes somehow to double the size! but i want the same size to remain! also cm is selected, so no reason for it to keep the number of pixels!. i have to uncheck the maintain aspect and recheck it again to put the correct value in the size.

Also, i work with big documents, is there a way to stop previewing the jpegs in the export as jpg dialogue?

AutoCad :: Export Drawings In High Quality (TIFF)

Sep 30, 2013

is there a way of exporting my AutoCAD drawings in high quality? Maybe Tiff?

The problems I have with exporting is that if export a drawing as a *.wmf the thick lines come out too thick even when using the 0.3 mm thickness. If i use the 0.25 mm thickness the lines are as thin as with the default thickness.

The contour lines of an image I imported into my AutoCAD drawing are coming all blurry when I export into wmf file even when using the 600 dpi resolution (highest available on the menu).

Inside my AutoCAD drawing my image map has a very high quality but when I export it, with AutoCAD polylines on top of it, the drawing comes out horrible.

I painted a blue polyline to represent a river in a contour map. This is for a civil engineering project. When I export the drawing, the polyline comes out too thick and the image behind comes out blurry. This happens even when using the highest definition possible for a wmf export (600 dpi).

I've read in another thread about a way of exporting into tiff. I followed the directions but the thread is not well explained. It doesn't say whether it is necesary to have or buy certain software. And it doesn't say what to do next to export the tiff drawing.

how to export high quality AutoCAD drawings?

Illustrator :: Why Does Image Go Blurry When Export File To JPEG From CS6

Is there anything I can do to keep my file as a jpeg with it staying as a sharp crisp image?

Photoshop :: How To Export Layered TIFF Files For Viewing In Preview

Dec 10, 2012

Being an architectural photographer I create a lot of layered files with many exposures with different lights on and daylight separately. I always save my layered files in a folder called Layered files in the project. I also save flattened 8 bit Tif's at full resolution for my client as a print file in a separate folder along with another folder for web and device optimized files. When my client opens some of my flattened files they tell me the only see one layer. When I open some of them in Preview I get the same result. I only see the last layer I put into my layered file. But when I open the same photo in Bridge I see the full flattened file as I saved it. What can I do about that?
