View 2 RepliesWe have just upgraded to 2012 map 3d and now every time I open a drawing whether or not in the sheet set manager or straight from the file location, the layer properties manager opens with it. Is there a way to make it not open every time a drawing is opened?

How do I change the layer color?
Run into an issue in AutoCAD Map 3D 2012 when multiple raster images (in this case 66 ortho images) are attached as data connections, you cannot see New Layers when you create them in the default Layer Properties Manager?
I have found using the Classic Layer Properties Manager is a work around.
It doesn’t seem to matter if the ortho images are connected individually or grouped as a single layer.
I'm running Map 3D with SP2 applied.
All of a sudden this morning clicking Layer Properties Manager gives my acadlt07 a fatal error. (unhandled e06d7363h Exception at 75509673h).
I thought it might be the file I was working on but it is happening with any file open.
i have recently upgraded from 08' LT to 12'LT and i have an intermittent issue with the Layer properties box.sometimes when i open the layers list and want to change layer name, color, linetype etc it will discard all changes when i close the box and the command line will show something like this
Command: _layer
Command:
Unknown command "-LAYER". Press F1 for help.
the Layer box opens and works as normal but makes no changes to the drawing.if i reopen the layer prop box it will then work, it seems to be completely at random whether it works or not.
AutoCAD LT 2007 - Cannot view Later Properties Manager when requested.

View 2 Replies View RelatedIn ACLT 2008, I was able to resize the window in the layer properties manager to what was convenient for me. In ACLT 2010, I am unable to change either the size or the position of the window. The same is true of the Design center window. Is this something that is permanently changed, or is there maybe a fix coming to allow this convenience in the future? Or have I missed some system variable which controls this?
View 3 Replies View RelatedI've created a VB.NET routine to update blocks, layers and layer filters from a source drawing.
After updating filters and when the command is finished (dialog closed), the Layer Properties Manager palette MAY not update to show the new set of filters although visually you can see that it does appear to refresh itself.
Whether it updates seems to depend on which filter is active and which filters are added. For example, I have properties filters A, B, C, D and E, and B and E have subfilters B1-B8 and E1-E9.
If Filter E3 is removed as a test and the parent filter E is active, when the command is done, E3 should appear back in the list, but it does not show until the palette is closed and reopened. If filter B is active, then the list will refresh and E3 will show immediatlely after the command exits.
I have added a dialog to my routine to inform the user they may have to close the palette and reopen to get the proper display.
I have tried Editor.UpdateScreen() but that does not work.
One of my CAD techs is having an issue with the Layer Properties Manager Palette. When she opened AutoCAD, the palette was gone. When she tried to bring it up with "LAYERPALETTE", she gets the "unknown command" message. When she tried to bring it up using "LA" or "LAYER" or the button on the ribbon, she gets a bunch of options in the command line.
How can we get the Layer Properties Manager Palette back?

I installed ACAD LT 2011 in my new HP Win7 computer, and the font in the Layer Properties Manager box is so large that it is unreadable. I have attached a file showing a 'print screen'. I need directions on how to put the text back to normal size. I had no problems with this program in my old Dell computer.
View 3 Replies View RelatedAs I recall, in previous versions of AutoCAD, when I am in the Layer Properties Manager and I click on an xref under the Xref heading, the only layers shown were the ones in that xref, not all.
That is what is happening now. I cannot seem to find any setting under the settings for the Layer Properties Manager that would change this.
I am currently running AutoCAD 2012 and have lost the capabilities to dock my Layer Properties Manager.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI'm having an issue where the Layer Properties Manager Dialog Box appears to be anchored. Meaning I can't move or resize the dialog box.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI have AutoCAD (2013) set up with two anchored windows on the left-hand side of my screen - layer properties, and then anchored below it the design centre. What can I do to make sure that my layer properties manager always stays anchored to the TOP of the LHS, and the design centre BELOW it, because they switch around when I open a new drawing?

View 6 Replies View RelatedI have recently loaded Autocad 2013 and am having trouble with the text showing up in the Layer properties manager dialogue box, all information about the layers is whited out.
Is this a transparency setting?
I am unsure what to change/set to correct this so I can see layer informaion in the dialogue box.
I have been having this issues as of recently, and i am now no longer able to use my "Layer Properties Manager"
Every time that i try to open the "LPM" it gives me an error that says
I have never seen this error before but its making it very miserable for me to have to seperate my work in layers without the use of the "LPM"
I have already un-installed & re-installed twice frankly i don't have anymore time to do this because i have deadlines i need to meet and its becoming a very big pain.
what happened but the layer properties manager box does not open any more?
View 9 Replies View RelatedFrom time to time the layer properties manger Blanks out. See the attached image. The data is there, under the "fog" - I can view one item at a time by clicking on it.
CLASSICLAYER works in most situations, but it isn't a real fix. If I play with the layer manager long enough I get some degree of rehabilitation - as if it is really trying hard to open, but just can't manage it. The fields sometimes are blocked black, or certain areas of the fields become visible momentarily. If I scroll to the far right I can pick up some information.
I'd just like it to work properly.
I am running AutoCad Architecture 2012 on Windows 7 professional with NVIDIAGeForce GT 440 and dual screens, (however I keep all the autocad work on the same screen).
Im using AutoCAD 2012 and I have lost the capability to dock my Layer Properties Manager to the left or right.
View 6 Replies View RelatedMost annoying thing, the VP Freeze and New VP Freeze columns in the Layer Properties Manager keep resetting themselves to original position. I've done all the proflie stuff, re-save it after changing it, re-load it when I find the error, etc.. and still it reverses every time I restart AutoCAD.
What is it with the columns in dialog boxes? I've posted how the column widths in the File Dialog box reset everytime too. How they don't follow windows folder options. Is this some Windows issue or AutoCAD issue?
using autoCAD 2009 everytime I open up the Layer Properties Manager, it causes a Fatal Error and autoCAD to shut down, this is a first and need need to know how to solve this problem or at least a diagnose.

View 4 Replies View RelatedI typically work in autocad with the Layer Properties Manager open on my other screen (dual screen setup). I have been having no problem with freezing and other layer management tasks on other files. But on a particular file, the simple task of freezing a layer takes 20 seconds. Other simple tasks like saving and switching to a layout sheet also take near 30 seconds. There only seems to be a few files that ever do this to me.
I have all xrefs updated and she'd purged and audited.
Also, does having the layer properties manager or properties manager dialogue windows open at all times dramatically complicate autocad's processes?
LT 2014 Menu Buttons missing from top of Layer Properties Manager Window (see attachment).Works fine in LT 2013. What changed between the two versions that causes this?
View 9 Replies View Related1. had this problem for sometime. running windows 7. When i minimize my autocad window from maximise to the taskbar, for some reason when i click it on the taskbar to bring it back up, it has shrunk to its restore down size instead of the maximised window it was. This problem seems to only occur on win7. I don't have my windows aero themes off as i know of those problems, whats causing this one?!
2. whats also annoying in windows 7 is that i choose not to have my taskbar buttons combined, i am only in one session of autocad yet each drawing has its own taskbar button, is this normal?!
When I open, say, 10 images at once, I see (10) individual "restore down" windows atop each other;I then maximize top window & process; when I close top window:in my CS1, next window=image auto-maximizes window & sliders will appear if I zoom to 100%
in my CS2, next window=image is still "restore down" & I have to click windows upper right "Maximize" icon
Question: how to get CS2 "behaving" like CS1?
