AutoCAD Inventor :: Distance Effect - Why Does Paper Changes Its Color
May 10, 2005I noticed that when "distance effect" is selected in viewing preferences, the paper color of .idw files changes. I think it's not good, is it?

View 7 Replies View RelatedI'm using version 7, I'm trying to create a curled paper effect then paste an image on the "paper". A couple of web sites suggested creating a rectangle then create a path or something like that and then using the pen tool and the "handles" manipulate the corners. I'm not sure if I have the terminology correct but the problem is that when I create the rectangle and go to add the path (the icon looks like a circle with handles on it) it's grayed out and can not be selected and manually creating a path with the pen tool doesn't work.
View 5 Replies View RelatedI'm using cad 2013 and my boss needs something that appears smaller as it fades into the distance. it has occurred to me that I've always looked past the fact that autocad makes everything the same size (i.e. any circle drawn at 90mm will look the same in front view no matter how far you space them in top view). So the program doesn't give the natural "fading into the distance" effect. is there a way to make it look more realistic using a view or rendering or something that I am unaware of?

I have a character that gets so much shadows from the own body (under chin, under arms, betweens legs) and I want to restrict this with a shorter ray, so AO calculation stops "behind the wrinkles", understand?
But no matter what search distance I set, what mode I use, I always get the same useless result.
I think that line weight controls line thickness in plot.
If I want to see the result in paper pace, what shall I do?
Is there any way of displaying the geodetic distance(ie "mapdist") with the dimension tool instead of the normal distance?

I am not sure what is wrong .. but i heard parallel and perspective view could make a difference .. i actually try both :/ ...

I would like to create a background paper like you see here:
I've tried every combination of bevel/emboss in the layer style with inner glow, outer glow, drop shadows added, but I can't get close to the example. Maybe the layer style of bevel/emboss is not the starting point.
Is these a way to replicate the graph paper too in CorelDraw - it makes it super-fast to divide a page up into X number of colums etc. I cant find this in Xara.

How can I use this same modified image to create a mask that I can use on other screen prints?
I have some random curves (already created) and I want to blur them just from one side to have the same blur distance and effect one the whole curve.
To more precisely describe what I need, I need to create gradient with direction of normal for every "point". The best example I have found so far are borders in Civilization IV game. Here are two examples:

As you can see, there is a solid curve, which gradually blends (i.e. alpha channel is lowered) till the gradient disappears. I have the solid curve and the question is, what would be the simplest way how to do this (the number of curves is around 100) gradient.
Is there a way of dimensioning the distance between the views on a .idw?
I have a series of drawings to make, that consist of two view each. I need to make them as consistant as possible, as far as the distance from view to view, accross the drawings.
What formula or dimensions do i require so as there is a 0.5mm gap around the Revolution 3 (red color)...is revolution the method required to achieve this?

In Civil 3D 2010, the color of the paper background was a darker color and I was able to have yellow text on top of it and be able to edit the text. Now with Civil 3D 2013, the color of the paper background in paper space is white and I can't read the yellow text. I know that you can either turn the paper background on or off, but is ther a way to change its color so that it is darker?
View 4 Replies View RelatedI have a VBA form coded that we use to generate part numbers and descriptions that then populate the iProperties. We often use the part sizes in the description. I would like to be able to put a button on the form that allows users to use the "Measure Distance" tool so that they can measure the part while they are creating the description.
Any code that I could use to activate the "measure" tool while a vba form is active?
There is an API AddTwoPointDistance() to add the distane(horizontal, vertical or aligned) between two sketch points.
But I want to add perpendicular distance constraint between a sketch point and a sketch line

I'm just playing with a rotor head of a model helicopter (see picture). For proper initial alignment, all main parts shall be setup parallel against one-another. This can be done by aligning the length of the ball linkages.
But therefore I need to know the distance of the ball centers. How can I do that? (STEP file for testing with different Inventor versions is attached).
