AutoCAD 2010 :: Letters Are Printed In Grayscale

Mar 21, 2012

I'm having a problem with printing. When i print a page all line and letters are printed in gray scale BUT the hatches will print out in color.  I was able to view the same drawing under a different login and found it was the drawing is in Gray Scale when printing (but not viewing). How do I change the settings on the drawing to print out full color

Photoshop :: Gamma For Grayscale To Be Printed

Apr 4, 2012

I'm confused about gamma adjustment. I'm getting a book ready to be published by a print on demand company. It involves making a PDF using InDesign which contains photos which I've edited in Photoshop. The company has a list of specifications " to be sure that my PDF prints properly",and one of them says "The gamma of a grayscale image should be between 2.2 and 2.4." I don't know how to interpret this. If I change the gamma of a photo to 2.2 it obviously becomes much lighter, but then when it's saved the new lighter document has a gamma of 1.

I know I'm not understanding this at all. I've looked all over trying to figure this out. Most references refer to gamma adjustments for monitors, and I get that. I also know that when things are printed they will come out darker because of dot gain.

CorelDRAW Graphics Suite X5 :: Letters Vanished When Printed?

Aug 6, 2013

We are longtime users of CorelDraw, but recently we have been having lots of problems with printing.

When printing out a page for production, the letters at the end of one piece of text did not show up when printed. The wording was not converted to curves or anything; just plain text split into two lines.

On other occasions, pieces of artwork will not appear when printed. Sometimes it is consistent on multiple computers; other times only one computer will print the errors.

Is this a bug in X5? Is it fixed in X6, or are there still issues of art and text randomly vanishing? Could the printers be at fault?

AutoCAD 2010 :: How To Color In Some Letters And Symbols

Mar 3, 2012

I'm using ACAD 2012 3D. I want to color in some letters and symbols, but whenever I do they get muffled away by the material I selected for my object.

Here's a render prt scn: [URL]....

As you can see the black arrow is partially yellow, which I do not want. The problem doesn't only happen after rendering, but in my model space as well. I tried all kind of things to get it all black. Hatch, make a solid out of it, different layer, draworder, apply other materials, but nothing seems to work. What goes for the arrow goes for all the words in gray/white too.

In case you wonder, I've made an effect pedal for guitar.

AutoCAD 2010 :: When Plotting To PDF Tiny Black Holes Get Printed?

Nov 19, 2012

As you can see in the attached images their are tiny black holes that appear on the plotted pdf that are not there in paper space. I use the 3d clip command for my viewports to split up the tower into sections. The only thing I can think of is that for some odd reason when plotted the plot routine picks up these bolt holes that are suppose to be clipped out. how to prevent this?

AutoCAD 2010 :: Model Space Viewport Geometry Printed Through Watermark In Layout

May 10, 2013

Is it possible to have model space geometry print through a watermark in the layout? My watermark consists of mtext with an arial font placed manually in the layout. It is on it's own layer which is set to print at Shade 40 (plot style tables). Draworder works with other layout objects but not the geometry from the model space viewport. My watermark covers the model space geometry so it is not visible when printed. Is this possible?

AutoCAD 2010 :: Scale On Printed PDF File Not Matching The Plotted Scale?

Jun 27, 2012

We have recently noticed that after printing a PDF of a drawing I plotted from AutoCAD we are coming up with differences when we double check the scale on the printed hardcopy using a carpenter ruler.

For example, there is a dimension labeled on the drawing of 200 ft.  However, if I try to scale this out with a carpenter's ruler at the drawing was set to (say for instance it is 1 inch = 100 ft) I am coming up short of the  2 inches it should be (typically come up around an 1-15/16" or around 194 feet, approx 97% of the correct amount).

In the Page Setup Manager in AutoCAD, I have the following options selected (see the print screen as well):

Printer/plotter selected: DWG to PDF.pc3

Paper Size:  ANSI full bleed B (11.00 x 17.00 Inches)

What to Plot:  Layout

I don't have a plot scale scale other than the default 1" = 1'

No plot style selected

Then, on the print menu when I open the PDF that I have exported from AutoCAD, I have the following settings (see the print screens I have attached):

Printer:  The printer I use (Konica Minolta c650 Series PCL)

And I have selected the Options "Auto Rotate and Center" and "Choose paper source by PDF page size**"

** Note, that I have tried unselecting the "Choose paper source by PDF page size" option and accordingly changed the paper size in the "Page Setup..." button at the btoom to match the document size (i.e. 11.0 x 17.0in) and it gets the difference to be closer (i.e. I now get 198 ft but some of my border gets cut off).  See the print screen below for this a print screen of the print menu and sub-menu of Page Setup showing the paper size selected.

I saw that some people in other forums state that there is no real solution when trying to scale off of PDF's and that there should be a disclaimer saying as much if you are to send the file out to a customer who may rely on doing some in the field scaling from the printed copy of the PDF file.  I find it hard to believe there is no solution as we have received some drawings from others whom the scaling works just fine.

AutoCAD LT :: PDF Prints In Grayscale

I made this drawing using a new template, (one of ones that comes by default with the program) and then I imported my layers; maybe thats the problem, but, what can I do?

AutoCAD LT :: Grayscale And Color Plotting

Here is my problem;

•Need to plot entire drawing in Greyscale, with that in mind I need to select X number of objects in the drawing to plot in Color. So in the end I will have a complete drawing in greyscale and a selection of objects in color so they stand out.
•Now, I know I can do this through the .ctb file but I have many colors / layers and many objects so this will take a long time to do.
•Is there an app or override option I can use to do this?

AutoCAD .NET :: Merge Layer In PDF Printed?

Jan 2, 2014

I create a .net automation application to print to pdf with layers. There are more 30+ layers in the drawing, I like to have the layer information in the pdf file but like to merge them to a couple:

e.g.
PDF Layer 1 show AutoCAD Layer A1, A2, A3, ...,
PDF Layer 2 show AutoCAD Layer B1, B2, B3, ...,
PDF Layer 3 show AutoCAD Layer C1, C2, C3, ...,
...

I think there will be 3 solution here:

a) merge them at the time of AutoCAD printing

b) merge layer in pdf

c) create bookmark in pdf. I have used iTestSharp to generate PDF file, merge PDF files but cannot find a solution for this. How I can do it programmically?

AutoCad :: 3D Printed Circular Object Is Actually A Polygon?

Aug 26, 2013

I used 2 3d printers to print the same object(a funnel with a circular section): Makerbot replicator 1 and 2.The result was a shape which was not circular in section but polygonal. What can I do (or the owners of the 3d printers) in order to obtain a circular form?

Initially I thought it was displaying it as a polygon (”shade” command) to save memory usage but when the actual product turned out non-round I concluded that I (or the owner of the printer) may be doing something wrong.
